Looking at the Eagles schedule, they can easily be 14-0 by the time they meet us next

The NFL dealt them a very easy path. Meanwhile we had to play TB, Cincy, and at the Rams
the NFL didn't deal anything....its based on where you finish in your division, which division you play this year, etc.

we finished first, so we played Cinci and Tampa, Rams. they finished second, so they play Pitt, cardinals, Saints.

They’re not a very good team. Only real elite teams appear to be Bills and Chiefs. And losing Tyreek Hill might be what finally puts the Bills over the top. Philly could win the NFC but not because they’re very good.

More and more film is being put out on Hurts and the Eagles. DC's will figure it out and they will lose several games. Look for Martinadale to put a stop to it, and putting the blue print.

You mean 5th seed? There's 4 divisions and 1-4, plus the opening wildcard round home game, all go to the division winner regardless of record... just ask the Saints how that turned out.
Oops, I meant 5th seed, you are correct.

It may be that you end up playing the Eagles two more times if you wanna get to the big show. Cowboys have to hope for a few things:

1. Improved WR play. Cooper was the insurance policy they should've kept.
2. Prescott playing more like the early part of 2021 than 2018.
3. The running game is kept as the guiding thread.
4. For the Eagles to stumble once or twice the rest of the way.
5. Take care of business at home on Christmas Eve. Lose THAT game and it seems there is simply NO chance to win the division.
6. That Green Bay, L.A. and Tampa Bay continue to drop games...making it easier to get in via the wildcard route.

Finally...if Prescott is everything we think he is then this team WILL make the playoffs, given the defense it fields.

I'll take that bet...

Not winning the division is no disaster, I would settle for a Wild Card and a winning run to end the season. What is important is momentum going into the play-offs.

Incidentally the Eagles could struggle in these games:

WK 11 @indianoplis (team chasing a play-off spot)
Wk 12 Green Bay (who knows what they will be like then)
Wk 13 Tennessee
Wk 14 @ Giants

And rematch on Xmas Eve. I think the fight at the end of the game will be remembered We will be ready to give them a beating

The Cowboys played those teams because the NFL sets up 3 games for every team in the current season based on the previous season's division finishes.
All division winners from 2021 will play 3 division winners in 2022 that are not part of the 8-game whole-division rotation (one AFC and one NFC division).
Happens every season.

The odds are against that for various reasons some of which revolve around health. Every team has letdowns. Teams get complacent. The more they win the bigger a target they become. It's just not easy winning that many games without losing some. In the NFL today a team with 1 win could knock off another team with 10.

This is assuming the Eagles take advantage of the schedule. The past two weeks the Cardinals and Cowboys both could have beaten them and they were even behind 14-0 to the Jaguars before that. Philadelphia is far from invincible and I think people are starting to see it.

Eagles will hit a rut and lose like 2-3 in a row. Nature of the game.

Hardest game on the schedule is home vs. Green Bay, and Rodgers has been struggling badly this season... but who knows, he tends to pick it up down the stretch of the regular season.

Second hardest game is @ NYG, but we know they're paper tigers like the 2016 Giants team who won a lot of close lucky low scoring games and ended up 11-5 but were quickly exposed for the frauds they were in the playoffs.

The rest of the games between now and Week 16 @ Dallas are absolute cupcakes. I don't expect them to lose a single one except for maybe GB and/or NYG

Winning the division seems highly unlikely at this point.

Yep, they could. Schedule favors other NFC Est teams. Cowboys got the 2020 season SB champion and both 2021 season SB participants, and other NFC teams did not.

At times? Yeah, I was. That game had the look of a rout at one point.
Let's see how effective that RPO crap is by December. They aren't the first to do it. A few years ago multiple teams were doing it. Defenses figured it out. When you turn the ball over against good teams, you can get routed. Our defense was on the field almost the whole first half.
