Open ended?

I asked a question like what day it is.

There's no opened ended about it.

Here's another opened ended question. What number does Romo wear?

Whatever though, if you're not cool answering I really don't care.

What a wierdo.

You are such a waste of time.

I'm sure the girls you talk to will say the same.

Whats the problem with being a cashier?

Dealing with pissy customers all day. Standing in spot for hours on end.

Touching the money that comes from people's filthy hands.

Take your pick.

pretty much that covers it.

People are generally jerks, you are stuck in one spot all day/night, the people in charge of cashiers are always the biggest morons on the planet and when there is downtime you will find yourself doing incredibly stupid things to make it look like your busy.

I was a cashier for about 6 months. I started out when I was 15 as the bottle return dude. It was manual then, no machines. It was a nightmare, every scumbag would come in with dirty beer and soda bottles and cans and just throw them at me and stand around giving me grief while I counted them all and printed reciepts.

I ended up working in the meat department and then settled in at a new store in the produce department for almost 7 years.

In those spots of a store you are always active and there is always something to do and the time goes by quick. I couldnt find a job in my field at that time, when I graduated and almost took a job as a produce manager of a new store when it opened up. I made the mistake of talking about it with a friend where I worked and someone overheard us and I went from having the job to getting no returned calls only to find out the guy I worked for jumped in and got his girlfriend hired!!!!

It was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me, if that had not happened i would probably still have that job and would be stuck living somewhere I dont want to be....!!!! thank god for that nosey backstabbing ******* I worked for!!!!!!:laugh2:

anyway umm, yeah being a cashier is no fun, long days with miserable people....

I worked in a grocery store for 9 stinking years. I had a good time and learned some good lessons.

If you like to be busy and up and moving around check out a grocery store, just dont be a cashier.

I worked for Jewel for 6 years and the memories I had at that place are awesome. One time our boss was being trasnfered and everyone liked the guy and was super pissed he was leaving, only cause wed get a huge ****** in return. So his last day we called his wife before he left for work and told her to put a change of clothes in his trunk and we antiqued him oh man, cleaning that garbage compactor after words wasn't fun but its a great memory.

I did the fast food racket when I was a teen. Wendy's, Jack in the box.

Got to college and worked at Blimpie's and another fast food burger joint.

Same here.

My first job while I was in high school was at Six Flags, working at Texas Barbecue, which was right next to the Texas Giant. After that, I worked at places like Braum's, McDonalds, Burger King and Little Ceasars. After that, I got a decent gig at a Telemarketing company but got fired from there when a very irate person told me to put them on the "do not call" list and instead, I chose to get back at them by choosing the "recall" option and I just happened to be being audited at time :lmao2: . That's the first and only time I have been fired and it was a very interesting experience.

After that, I worked for a short minute at Best Buy but ended up leaving to go to Blockbuster Video while in college and my last few years in college, I got a job at a Forensics Lab, intaking fire and soil samples. That was my last gig until I graduated from College.

Anywho, the point is sometimes you have to pay your dues and take what you can get when you have absolutely no marketable skills (like most teenagers).

When I was in college I was a loader for UPS. They pay fairly well and the work gives you an excellent workout.

I never wanted to work fast food because I didn't want to see how that garbage is made.

I'm content not knowing where everything on a Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger comes from.

I've worked a lot of cashier jobs and I've never had a problem with customers. I guess it's because I'm good looking. Sorry, ugghos.

My first Job was the Military I enlisted when I was 17 in college I did Night Audit at Hotels (I work the other shifts sometimes) so I have dealt with a different side of being sort of a cashier and a little more it was not so bad while late shift anyways was not bad except you got no sleep.

Bar Baking and bartending is another entire ball game and that depends on where you work on how bad or nice of a job it can be.

We did a qtr night for 2 hours let just say at the end of 2 hours you where ready to go home

Really, though, my first job was as a pilot at a horse ranch. I shoveled it up and wheeled it out in piles and piles. Man, I can't believe that's how I made my dough in HS and I was still quite the ladies' man. Of course, that was quite some time ago.

Just keep it up. It's not just tough for you out there. It's tough for a lot of people.

Also, a lot of jobs want you to call them back. They don't have to call people. At least, if you're not getting calls back then call them back.

Any job that gets you around lose women. You only live once and when you're young, you need to take advantage while you can. Take it from a 52 yr. old retired Marine.
