In the tablet market their aren't Apple fanboys and other fanboys, as there aren't any legitimate alternatives. Phones are a different story.

The ASUS Transformer Prime is the BEST tablet on the market as of today. You cannot argue the fact. When you put them in a comparison side/side the iPad loses out in performance and in cost and it is by a HUGE and substantial margin. It's not even fair because of the differences in hardware between the 2.

I understand that there are plenty of people who don't like Apple, for whatever reasons, but the fact is, they revolutionized the smartphone market, and created a huge market for tablet computers by making quality products with great designs and elegant operating systems. It's pretty hard to make the case that they aren't making great products. Any thread regarding tablet computers should at least include some support for the king of that market.

I owned a PocketPC mobile phone in 2003. The idea that Steve Jobs stole to create the iPhone.

What Apple did was not new at all. Jobs was just a marketing genius.

The iPod wasn't a new concept either. Nor the iPad for that matter.

Tablets that existed before the iPad.

Steve Jobs just stole ideas and marketed them better than the original creators. (not to mention that technology advanced quite a bit to make them lighter and smaller)

The new version of the prime coming in May will have an even better display/camera im reading. AND - AND - AND - AND its not a closed platform. I can do w/e I want w/ my Prime. Honestly, performance shouldn't be the deciding factor.

In fact, saying the ASUS out performs the iPad, isn't really saying much. So, you can open an app faster? Have more background processes? Big deal...

Quality and number of apps should decide it for you.

Doesn't matter how fast your tablet is if you only have 2 apps for it.

I've been on the Android platform for about a month now.

Although I'm generally pleased with my Android smartphone, the quality of apps aren't on par with the IOS apps. Furthermore, some apps that I used on IOS don't even exist for Android. When I did find a similar app it often times just flat out sucked.

Just going to toss out a couple of tablets:

Dell Streak - dead.
XOOM - still here people complaining about genera suckiness and lack of apps.

Right now there is only one viable tablet - the iPad.

For people who want an all in one solution, with a robust app ecosystem, and continued development - the only answer is an iPad.

Apple to hit 100 millionth iPad sale this year (currently 55 mil).

IF you have to with an android tablet. Samsung seems to be the way to go.

I would say ASUS is the way to go for Android tablet. The Transformer Prime is the best tablet on the market right now. Will that remain to be true after the iPad3? That remains to be seen.
