Looking to buy a tablet

Another reason is that I have numerous purchased apps on Android and would not want to start over on Apple.

Apple users will stay with Apple, Android with Android.

Makes perfect sense. Yet in every single thread, now matter how plainly it is spelled out someone is going to recommend apple to an android user or android to an apple user.

Welcome to the internet :D

I was looking at buying a Blackberry Playbook but now since I can get the iPad 2 for $399 i'm tempted.

Just keep in mind if you are purchasing the "New iPad" there are no usb or SD slots. Input/outputs are something you'll need to look at as well.

If you plan on getting on the internet you'll need a blackberry phone. Unless they changed it you have to tether it to a phone.

Definitely. That is why I am leaning towards the Transformer series.

The Transformers has a mini HDMI and SD slot and can be docked to a keyboard with 2 regular USB slots, and so on.

I'm leaning towards the TF101 since I don't want to shell out $700 for the TF202 +Dock. The TF101 will cost almost half that.

I moved to Apple for the stability and to avoid some of the malware and viruses although I keep a Windows laptop. I don't have a tablet but I've been looking at an Android vs Ipad. The thing keeps the Android in play for me is the connections esp the SD and USB port. I'm not interested in tweaking an Android. And the apps aren't that far behind although enough to matter. I have an Iphone 3GS and its ok with me for a substitute tablet for now. I think I'm just going to wait.

I went ahead and bought an Asus Transformer TF101 brand new from Craigslist.

I went to Best Buy to test drive each tablet I was interested in and realized that the TF101 was the best for the money ($275).

A quad core would have been nice in the TF201 but for $175 more it wasn't worth it. Not to mention that a lot of apps/games are not compatible with quad core processors as of yet.

I've read that TF101's have had random reboot issues after updating to ICS but I have not seen any yet on mine.

So far, I'm more than happy with what I have purchased!

Thanks for posting. I mentioned to a friend of mine just this morning that he should go get the ASUS TF101.

;)

I think you got a great deal and will be happy w/ that purchase.
