Fan Boys:" We are the best drafting team in the league!"
After getting almost nothing so far from this draft class...
Fan Boys: " You can't judge a class until several years down the road."
After cutting 1st round pick after 2 seasons....
Fan Boys: "All teams miss in the draft. Plus, our d-line is loaded and he isn't better than the guys we have"
Taco starts 4 games, registers 17 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 safety, 4 QB hurries
Fan Boys: "Ummm, Go Cowboys?"
The reality is while it is too early to judge a prospect, it is not too soon to be disappointed by the lack of production from this class. This team and fans here have been beating their chests about ignoring free agency and just "building through the draft." When you claim this is your primary method for roster building, you cannot miss on your top picks. Especially Trysten Hill, who was supposed to be a pass-rushing 3Tech, where this team desperately needs someone to step up and take reps.
It's also not too early to learn from the mistakes and stop listening to the voices in the war room he pushed Taco over TJ Watt and Trysten over Thornhill. Hopefully, the Cowboys has some sort of postmortem process and when they evaluate what went wrong with those picks, they remove those people from the decision-making process.
