LOL you just contradicted yourself !
Dallas paid emmitt top dollar after his holdout, had they not, he would have been gone too.

No contradiction..

I was referring to his moving on to Arizona.

He wasn't asking for more money to stay..

..he was not forcing Dallas' hand to leave.

It wasn't about his money.

Dallas had it.

But the team decided to rebuild.

Murray on the other hand left immediately for the bigger money.

No thought about his Cowboy career or his best chance to really make his own legacy with us.

He's free to do as he wishes..no prob.

I take nothing personally.

As a fan..I do get disappointed though.

That's all.

There's only one way to find out.

I know.

But my point is, you can't just take a simplistic view to the RB position and what Murray meant to this offense. I was not against letting him go and did have gripes of his ball security at times but he was a huge piece to this offense. Defenses had to key on him. Just because he was back there, did not indicate either way whether it's run or pass. Some RBs can't pass block. So when they are in there, it's usually a run.

If it got them a SB win it would have been worth it.
Romo, Dez, other players, and Garrett all wanted to keep Murray, he was part of the chemistry, and formula, and he had built a reputation.
Now that is gone.
I am not saying they cant do good with other RB, but the players felt they were close to SB run with murray. It was a mental thing.
But he is gone, so they have to deal with it , who knows what will happen this year with run game?
If they had kept murray they would know, now they dont.
I think the other nfc east teams are happy murray is not a cowboy now. The giants and skins still have to play him , but it wont be the same
as if he was with cowboys.
I might add here that murray may have screwed up by not staying here, he had a good thing going here , but went for the extra 8 mil G.
Only time will tell if he or the cowboys, or maybe both screwed up, or did the right thing.
So you're saying if they kept Murray then he would've had another 1800yd season?

I doubt Murray would reach 1,800 plus this season and likely never again. It was a career year, heck Emmitt never reached that mark so to expect anyone else to match or surpass a season such as that is unrealistic. However he should continue to be a highly productive RB.

http://www.***BANNED-URL***/sports/...n-field-could-ve-had-2500-yards-last-year.ece

That Murray left a lot of yards on the field. 400 carries, behind OUR oline............He should have had the all time rushing record no problem. And 15 TD's is a small number considering the carries he got. He should have had 20 TD's minimum.

Get ready for big holes and big plays this year from our RB's.

Emmitt ran under a better, more seasoned line. Emmitt went over 350 carries 4 times in his career and average 4.3, 4.6, 4.0, and 4.7 yards per carry. Demarco had 392 carries and averaged 4.7 yards per carry. Just as much as Emmitt's best 350+ carry season. I guess Emmitt left a lot of yards on the field, too.

That was a fantastic piece of running... until he tried cutting back behind the tacklers at the end. Whether he would have scored is questionable but it's a shame that Bryant was running interference so well. Murray could have squeezed a few more sure yards out of his run. Oh heck. Irony.

So Emmit saw what I saw, but when i say it, Murray was the be all end all at RB for this team. He didnt leave yards on the field, has great vision, and top end speed. Im glad a 3 time superbowl winner is saying exactly what i said.

That is what a lot of us saw, How does this guy not get at least 2K? Died at the end of season..I cant wait till he dies in Philly and the fans turn on him like a snake, Too many fumbles and too many injuries....

I am sure every running back leaves some yards on the field. Its just that Murray did it a lot. Did you notice the opinion of another great RB coming out and saying he watched tape and agreed with Emmitt? Have you EVER heard so many people come out and say the same thing about a good RB like Murray? I havent. Have you bothered to go back and watch the games? There is a reason for it. Murray is great, but he left yards on the field all too often. Its now been confirmed by multiple experts.

But you know better?

The point by everyone is not that Murray isnt good. Its just that he could have done better. He is not some all world running back that did it all on his own. The line was a big reason for it.

Every running back leaves yards on the field. To say that he could have done anything significantly better than eclipse the team record in rushing is pretty laughable.

Being a great player doesn't make you a great analyst or evaluator of talent. There's a reason why Emmitt only lasted about 6 months as an analyst on TV. Most of these opinions from former players are worth about as much as the guy at the liquor store, from a talent evaluation stand point.

You think Emmitt broke down hours of game film before he came up with this?

Well I doubt they would have given him as many carries, JG had said in 2015 they would give him the ball less than in 2014.

My point is they knew what murray could and couldnt do, exactly, so this allows them to scheme and plan knowing what they
can do on offense.
They could run the same offense again, and teams would fear murray and the run attack, which helps romo and pass game.

But with no murray and the RB's they now have , they dont know anything about what they can or cannot do, they can only guess at it.,
So now they just have to experiment and ad lib till they figure out what current backs can do and cannot do.

If they are wanting a SB run this year , had they kept murray it would have been much easier, and worth the money if they did make the SB and win.

1800 or 1300 or 2000 doesnt matter, it would be the first downs or 5 yards on 1st down stuff that matter.
Dallas had a high 3rd down conversion rate and that was due to the yards murray got on 1st down . That is why they most always ran
on 1st down.
Murray had his flaws, but so do other players, they should have kept him , and reverse is he should have stayed here, he had a good setup
here and no state income tax. I think he jumped at the offer too quick without thinking it thru.
With endorsements etc, I think he could have made as much here or more than he will there.

DAL made it clear they didn't want him back. I'm not even sure they made the 6m offer and that was after the full court press from Romo, Garrett and Witten.

well garrett was the only one talking to him in last week, but I read the offer was 6mil, and 12 G.
The philly offer was 2 mil more per year, and 8 more G but the state income tax will cut that down.
If he has a career ending injury the philly deal is better , but if he winds up playing 4-5 years then maybe not.
Garrett and Romo really wanted murray to stay, so that is also a plus when HC and star QB is in your corner.
another good year and he might have got some more money added on.
