I kind of like when Dallas does 2 year deals because usually there is an escape clause after 1 with very little money lost.

He is probably hoping he can drag it out until after training camp. Dallas probably isn't offering a lot for him due to him not having a huge market so why not drag it out and miss training camp. His comp probably won't be better signing early.

If you look at the contracts offered to the depth guys, they a seem to universally be the same across the board.
