That was the QB.
...who was gashing us on the ground and the RBs also got their run yards late. Barkley also had a great game against us.

The entire narrative at the beginning of the season was that it was only a matter of time before the holes in the run defense got exploited and it finally happened.

Based on what? He signed a 1.3 million contract last year with the Raiders and they traded him halfway through the season for a late 6th round pick.
Did you actually watch the games? Did you notice what happened to our run d when Hankins went down, also LVE. Made a world of difference.

I just love so called experts in the game that clearly failed Football 101

Hankins was VERY important to stopping the run which cost us last season

But football morons think its all about the pass rush

I question Hankins commitment. His effort and attendance were sporadic.

I hope they do not think this is good enough like say they are at corner or wide receiver following the trades. They probably would.

Everyone wants to upgrade ever part of the team you can. That doesn’t mean using a first round pick on a pure run stuffer who will only be on the field a third of the plays
Hankins is a good signing, adding a guy in the draft could be great. Using 26 on a run stuffer though is a waste

Grover Stewart is available supposedly from Indy - let’s double dip with the colts.

Based on his play last year!
He was our best DT at the end of last year. We need to get rid of Gallimore and Bohannan. That is where we need to upgrade!

What game did we lose because we couldn’t stop the run?
None
The first Philly game.
The offense made the game close, then Phill preceded to run the ball down our throats! Something like 12 runs and 2 passes on the drive they stuffed down our throats.

There is no guarantee this happens still. Hankins won't take the lowball offer.
Or he may feel no hurry to do so.

If he's making vet minimum, maybe he wants to skip camp.

It's a puzzle to me why a guy who has made 30mil is sticking around for another 1mil.

I'm fairly convinced that Hankins is likely our best bet to secure a DT who aptly fulfills this team's needs. He's both capable and affordable.

My guess is 2 years - $5M total. With the 2nd year salary not guaranteed. So something like $3M of the $5M guaranteed. This is more than he got last year, but I think he proved he was worth more.

SB $2M. Year 1 salary of $1M guaranteed. Year 2 salary $2M not guaranteed. This would mean a 2023 cap hit of $2M. I doubt they add dummy years on the back end to spread out such a small SB over more years.

It is interesting the idiocy being cooked up by some to claim Hankins made no real difference.

Or those trying to somehow claim that we are looking at using a 1st rd pick on a run stuffer

Even worse are those idiots that claim stopping the run is not that important and that we are OK with what we have at DT.
