Problem here is, this means they'll go into the draft thinking they have that position filled. It's been this way for years.

Bingo and that is what scares me. They think with him resigned it is a done deal with the rest of the DT on the team, and that is furthest from the truth.

Along those same lines they have not brought in a replacement for Schultz. I can see a line of thinking that sees Ferguson as that replacement but I fear another that sees them reach for a David LaFleur.

He also threw a 58,36 and 21 yard completion
That’s what won the game. Big plays in the passing game

You have your mind made up, why should we argue?
Fine you don't believe the run D needs an upgrade, OK by me. I think it does, I think the first game vs Philly we had a shot but couldn't stop them from running the ball in the 2nd half. I think we couldn't stop the niners at crunch time, they got some big carries in the 4th.
But no matter what I say you will come back with bla bla bla.

It’s just really hard to draft an impact DT picking in the middle or late draft slot
We’ve drafted guys just not really good ones
Picking to fill a need over talent got us hill and taco

There are impact DTs in the league, they don't just show up on the stat sheet. Also, Jones' have never showed resistance for skill positions. Outside of Hill, when was the last time we drafted a safety or DT high? The last truly impactful DT we had was Ratliff and he was good for about a minute.

Look more closely at those games and I'll bet the offense left the defense out to dry with multiple turnovers and 3 and outs. I don't care how good your run D is, if they're gassed, they're going to struggle late in the game, or "crunch time."

Yeah I know the game is multifasceted, that should not prevent you from trying to upgrade your run D, specially at the interior, seems like I proposed something crazy like changing schemes to 3/4 or something, Geeez!
