35th out of 37 kickers. There are only 32 teams in the NFL. This means Maher is about as awful as you can possibly get.

There obviously isn’t a better option out there. We’ll have to address the kicker situation during the offseason.
Right. Just like the last offseason where they didn't even bring anyone in.

If you want to know why a team with supposedly so much talent is 8-8 and unable to beat teams with a winning record, look no further than this trite from the Cowboys team about Brett Maher. Maher missed two FGs in teh game, one after the Cowboys moved to the 17 yard line of the Bills. The Cowboys liked the way Maher handles the adversity of missing FGs. Wouldn;t you rather like the way a kicker MAKES those FGs in a game when the Cowboys desperately need points?

Stephen Jones argues that one of those kicks was blocked. Sure, a 6'2" DT tackle weighing 320 lb. jumped up 10 ft in the air to deflect a 35 yd FG with his pinky. Not Maher's fault. Of course Jones wants us to believe that a DT playing on the left side of Maher blocked a kick with his left hand pinky because the kick was high enough to get over the line or headed for the middle of the uprights. Does he believe that garbage? I am not buying it. From that distance, which is almost extra point distance, kickers get the ball up high so it can't be blocked. That was all on Maher. But if that performance instills confidence in Maher, its no wonder this team is 6-6 and going nowhere. Clearly, it doesn't take much to make the Joneses confident in their team.

So we think we can go to the super bowl AND that we can rely on this kicker AND that Garrett is the ONLY way we can do it.

right..... ok, now it makes sense.

let’s go cowboys!!!
imagine a business, say a car maker, having one guy who is in charge of rear view and side mirrors. For a year, Half the time they completely fall off all models. In addition, in the same plant, Transmissions have a 25% install fail rate and brake lines a 40% fail rate under the direction of a plant manager. You talk amongst the owners and VP of operations and and say...."we'll not change anything for another semester and see how it goes"

Right. Just like the last offseason where they didn't even bring anyone in.

They didn’t feel the urgency last offseason. You can bet they’ll be competition this offseason.

This late in the season, honestly who else could they bring in. The Patriots are stuck with Folk right now and if the Pats had better options, Bellichek would probably be on it.

The Pats cut Folk. They just signed Kai Forbath

They're idiots; that's the point. Maher was bad last season and they did what they always do. "We like our guys."

Meanwhile the Patriots are on their second kicker since Gostkowski went down with his injury.
This team is allergic to change.

The Patriots are constantly cutting guys / signing guys during the regular season and generally trying to improve their roster.

You still need a better option you can’t just change for the sake of changing. His inconsistency has obviously become a huge issue this season. The main reason they keep hanging on to him is because he has such a big leg.

If you're suggesting that there was NO ONE that could be brought in I find tha impossible to believe. It's been two years.

It is not like Maher is in a slump. He is doing exactly what he was doing last year and they are completely fine with it.
