What is left that is cheap or desperate enough for this team to get up and bother to sign is awful.

So who on that list, that is still available, would be an upgrade or even status quo?

Right now, what is left are a bunch of bodies. Free agency sailed right on by while we were figuring out what to do.

I think we're having two different conversations.

If they were honest, they would. But pretending for a Jaylon/Tapper world domination tour and a home run draft keeps some people in their safe place.

I have faith that Jaylon will be a stud if he gets that nerve fully recovered, generational type player.

Tapper I am not sold on, and I loose faith quickly when linemen come into the league and get hurt immediately its seems to be an indicator that they don't have the frame or mentality it takes to handle the wear and tear of the NFL...hope I'm wrong though.

Bottom line...does it really matter? The first game isn't tomorrow.

Actually it does matter. Because what's left in FA isn't likely to improve the defense very much at all. So that leaves the draft. Given the holes, the Cowboys simply can't afford to "miss" some picks this year. They are basically counting on any defensive improvement this year to come from rookies and two guys who spent the entire season injured in Tapper and Smith.

You may think that's easy peasy but in reality is a very, very risky to have as many holes as we do on defense now and think that one draft will address most of them.

If FO takes a player in the offensive side of the ball first two rounds it tells me that the plan is to outscore not stop anyone.
