I do not have my notes anymore my wife threw that pad away :(. Any ways I posted about part of one game I think around the Giants game in Dec not sure I had several post about it.

I was planing to try and do a few more games again this year. Where I rewatch every play over and over again and hand write notes on every play. The games I did do where post adams I even have a post some where breaking down the 1st half of play I think even a few play by plays what happen.

RFA have to be offered a TENDER or they become UFA as I am sure was the case with KOSIER because he sucked in FRISCO!!! Do u know what the tender was! I will look it up but If u really think that then I would think u could come with some links or something!

It's obvious that you aren't familiar with how free agency works.

Kosier was a restricted free agent in 2005.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/SF/8241806

Any team that signed him to an offer sheet would owe the 49ers a seventh-round draft pick as compensation if the 49ers didn't match it.

Very few restricted free agents are signed to offer sheets (only 26 in the past nine years have changed teams). That's the case for several reasons. One is that the original team could just match the offer, making the pursuing team's recruiting and offer a complete waste of time. Another is that there is compensation tied to any RFA who was drafted (such as Kosier). Teams would rather sign a UFA and keep their draft picks than sign a comparable RFA and give up a draft pick. And they know that the same player who is an RFA this season probably will be available again as a UFA the very next season, with one more year of experience and no compensation required. And the player knows this, too. He is less desirable as an RFA than he would be as a UFA, so he is reluctant to sign anything but a one-year deal -- unless an extraordinary offer sheet comes along that makes him willing to forfeit his big chance as a UFA if he waits just one season. So it's ridiculous to say that ANY player not being signed as an RFA means he's not good (when he very well could have gotten plenty of offers but didn't sign one because he wanted to wait a year and be a UFA). And it's even more ridiculous to use that argument against Kosier, who WAS signed as an RFA, which meant Detroit spent a seventh-round draft pick just to have him for one year.

http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/DET/8401639

Kosier got his big chance as a UFA this offseason, and was ranked by some as one of the top three "sleeper" free agents available.

I have the Lions game so I will watch that so I can watch both players!!! But it sounds like if he wasnt worth giving up a 7th round pick last year why is he worth a 5 year deal this year!!!

I'm just not sold on the fact that "LA was not what he used to be" so that makes KOSIER good!!!

ANYONE have stats on KOSIER or Video on KOSIER?

Like I said, you obviously don't know how free agency works. Dallas (or 30 other teams) could have contacted Kosier's agent and offered him a three-year deal worth $2.5 million per season last year, but he might have wanted a one-year deal so he could take advantage of unrestricted free agency this year.

please explain this like I am a 7 year old.... I would think KOSIER would want to sign the COWBOYS (any long term) deal last year if the money was right!!! You are saying he risked a year of injury and passed up on a SIGNING BONUS that he could have had in 05 to see what he could get in 06!!!

sorry I just dont buy it!!! If there was a market/money for him in 05 he would have taken it and ran!!!

His agent would have used his UFA status as a bargaining tool to get more money!!!

But then again I cant say what he and his agent were thinking and I wont try... I can only say what I would do... if BILL gives me the same money in 05 as I think what I can get in 06 I'm taking it!!!

What u are saying, I think, is that he did not get the type of offers in 05 as he anticipated in 06... with a better year!!! what I'm saying is why didnt the COWBOYS see this last year and make him an offer he could not refuse... it was a 7th round pick!!! If the BOYS can give RIVERA 10 million and sign throw aways like PEERLESS PRICE to a cpl of million why not sign your OG target a year early!!!

Signing Kosier a year earlier would have put the BOYS in the PLAYOFFS in 05 maybe even the Super Bowl, right?

If anyone has any Video on KOSIER please offer it up I wanna believe!!!

If you need "proof" of the shell that Larry Allen had become, just pop in last season's Chiefs game. The end-around to Terry Glenn gives a particularly excrutiating example. Allen whiffs on not one but two attempted blocks, forcing Glenn to dodge three defenders to get into the endzone.

It a clear-cut and glaring example of everything that Allen couldn't do.

He can drive block in a phone booth but the guy can't move.

LOL, after missing both blocks didnt he turn his rear end around and nudge toward the defender to at least try to force one of the defenders to run around him. i think we are talking about the same play.

Pros: Kosier is cheaper

Cons: Larry Allen's left leg is stronger than Kyle Kosier (and porbably more talented as well)

You had the opportunity to see Allen in 16 games last year.

If you think he played well then we can't really trust your evaluation of Kosier now can we?

I guess your criteria for talented excludes the ability to move, agility, speed...

Last time I checked, strength was a much bigger factor for offensive lineman than speed

Here, let me try again...

Nope, still more important

Noone around here is forgetting how good LA was and strong LA still is. But he wasn't coming back this year with a 7.5m cap #. Wasn't. Coming. Back. Even if LA had agreed to accept a max 30% pay cut (which he wouldn't) his cap # still would have been around 6m which is way high for the 2005 version of LA.

I find it hilarious HH that a) you can't seem to move on beyond your LA man love and b) you seem to enjoy taking gratuitous shots at the guy that actually does play for the Cowboys now before he's even missed a single block. Weird.

Better send your "words of wisdom" to Mike Shanahan and all the talentless "wimps" he's been employing for the past 10 years.

You know, those 285 lb "weaklings" who probably can't even bench 600 lbs much less 700!

Those same guys who continue to pave the way for 1000 yard rushers no matter what their name is.

I'm not saying we were going to keep him, I'm saying LA was, is, and always will be better than Kyle Kosier. When Larry Allen is 80 years old and sitting in a nursing home, he will still be a better offensive lineman than Kyle Kosier

Some things to consider:

In his worst season in the NFL, Larry Allen still made the Pro-Bowl for the 11th time. In Kyle Kosier's best season, he didnt even start every game

Larry Allen was and still is the strongest player to ever step foot onto a football field. Kyle Kosier's most famous play involves him getting bulldozed by and OLB half his size. Larry Allen couldnt be pushed down by Lavar Arrington if he wanted to be.

Larry is the best guard to ever play the game, maybe the best offensive lineman to ever play the game period. Just like Jerry Rice was better than 75% of NFL WRs at age 40, so to is Larry Allen still better than most guards in this league, certainly better than Kyle Kosier.

I'm not saying they ever considered keeping him, I'm saying they should have. On a team where offensive line is your biggest question mark, you dont just release your best offensive linemen. Kosier being cheaper wont help us win more games.

Larry Allen, the strongest player ever, is also the best lineman ever.

Hmm......

If you knew anything about anything, you would know it is the scheme, not the players, who make Denver's system work.

It's not exactly the scheme. Plenty of teams utilize the same blocking scheme. It's the coaching, the conditioning, the playcalling, the scouting and other factors that make Denver such a good running team year in and year out.

If the scheme was so perfect, they could just afford to pay the bare minimum for O-Linemen and would always run and pass protect well. Instead they do draft O-Linemen and are not afraid to go the higher rounds to get them and as Pittsburgh showed, their O-Line can be manhandled.

Rich.........
