Unless he's a totally cancerous turd behind the scenes, this move makes no sense. He was hurt two years ago, so 2005 was essentially his rookie year. They're surprised he didn't instantly play like Marino? Other guys with horrendous early years: Aikman, Bradshaw, Young, Simms, etc. Even Favre was an interception machine.

Its way too early to give up on him, but this typically happens when you just indescriminately throw a QB out there before they are ready. You see things you can't unsee, and you lose perspective.

I honestly wonder if there is just a flat out personality clash going on with the new management.

1st year warts or not, nobody gives up on a first round draft pick QB after 1 full season.

the really funny thing about this is that somehow the BIlls fans will find a way to blame BLedsoe for it.

Of course they will, they are simple minded and don't know any better :laugh1:

This is Losman's second year, although he did sit in his first year. While Bledsoe was always complimentary about Brady, the only thing he (publicly) has said about Losman was that he thought it unfair Losman was given the job w/o competing against Bledsoe for it. Wonder what Bills fans are thinking now that Losman might be on the way out; their probably still posting that Bledsoe isn't that good, etc., etc. Clueless fans.

Course one big difference is that Brady is a good guy and Losman is a punk.

DING DING DING!

I remember running into Patrick Ramsey last year at a golf tournament and my friend who's a Bills fan asked him about J.P. Wasn't tough to tell Ramsey (college teammate) thought he was a jerk with a 10 cent head.

"(Losman has) had two years now to develop," Jauron said. "He had to play a lot last year. It was thrown on him early. It was a difficult situation to be in for a young guy. So he's got a real chance (to improve in his third year). He's got all that physical talent. He can run. He's got a strong arm. He's a smart guy. He's not afraid to work. He's got a lot of upside to him. We've got to give him a chance to get it out. Hopefully those other guys competing will force the hand a little bit and make them all better."

Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson reports that J.P. Losman is expected to be put on the trading block.

It's not a huge surprise if true. The new Bills regime has quietly moved away from Losman since taking over, saying he'd have to compete with Kelly Holcomb and Craig Nall for the job. GM Marv Levy had a chance to watch Losman up close as the team's preseason announcer last year.

I kind of feel sorry for losman, but then again I don't. If you fail to plan...you better plan to fail!!!

He should have known the expectation were going to be high replacing a legend like Bledsoe who shattered franchise records in 2002 for buffalo. He might not have made the playoffs during his tenure there, but he filled the stadium on sundays and brought excitement to a city and area of the country that is economically depressed and not a greatest place to live.

Thats one reason I hate stats, like someone said, there are lies and then there are stats.

I'm sorry but that is totally BS. Don't denigrate statistics. Stats are problematic when people who don't understand them throw them around -- and when folks that don't understand them take them at face value without asking critical questions as you did.

The phrase should be "there are stats and there are idiots who don't understand them"

AGree, I don't mean stats totally lie. By without looking deep into it, i.e. circumstances etc., they can be flung around to prove a point, when it proves exactly the opposite. Much like Politicians do.

Please provide a link. What franchise records did he shatter there ? I would think that Jim Kelley holds most of the records there.

So in essence in the last 4 years to fill the QB hole the Bills have traded:
#1 for Bledsoe
#1, #2 and #5 for Losman

The net result of all this is that neither will be on the roster and Nall/Holcomb will compete for the starting job.

The drafting of Losman worked out well for us:

We give up one #21 pick in the draft

We get:
Julius Jones
Marcus Spears
Sean Ryan
Drew Bledsoe (indirectly)

Just another shotgun/spread option QB to fail in the NFL.

Vince Young...buyer beware - history is not kind.

Why is there a 3 page thread on Losman and why do we care???

I'm confused.

What does Buffalo's backup QB have to do with us???

Oh, I get it ... you're happy to see another team fail in a draft and trade. After all these years of US wasting pick after pick after pick after pick, you're all giddy to see another team fail.

Makes you happy we got a leg up on Buffalo?

Talk about childish. Misery sure loves company.
