Saw on ESPN, he says the Cowboys are taking Zeke at #4. Say they see Emmitt when they watch Zeke.

Just another talking head, but I enjoy hearing him over Mel/Todd.

I like Riddick.

And I am resigning myself to the fact that there's a good chance Elliott is the pick. Indifference is where I would be at with that pick.

Where would you be at with this pick? Lol

Yep, indifference.

I don't think we need to invest the 4th pick in the draft with this OL to have a high level rushing attack. If we had a mediocre OL where a supremely talented TB could make them look better, sure. But that's not our problem.

I think Elliott will be a fine player here in Dallas. I just don't believe he's needed to accomplish what we want and also believe that there is a diminishing return here with this OL.

If Wentz or Goff is still there...I think you take the QB if you feel he is a franchise Player.

If they are not I take Zeke over Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey or Tunsil.

I think of all of the players Zeke offers the most immediate impact of the players.

So I would have no problem what so ever if we took Zeke.

I still don't think anyone knows for sure what the Cowboys will do. Of course, I'm a huge Elliott fan and wouldn't have any problems whatsoever if they drafted him, even at four.

But ... this draft is just so unpredictable at this point. I don't think we will know anything for certain, other than the Rams are taking a quarterback. But I expect the Rams to delay making an announcement on who even until the day of the draft. Although I expect any leaks prior to the draft would be because the Rams are seeking to sign Goff/Wentz before the draft starts.

If the QB's are gone and Ramsey as I suspect, Elliott will be the pick. Not really a mystery here.

My guess is the Big Board has Ramsey at #1, Tunsil at #2, Wentz at #3 and Elliott at #4 (with the same grade as Wentz). So if Tunsil and Elliott are there, Dallas will go BPA that fits a small need rather than taking Bosa who may have a grade of 90 while Elliott may have a grade of 94 or 95.

If we don't take a quarterback or if the quarterback isn't available, and we can't trade down, the only player I wouldn't be upset being taken over Elliott would be Ramsey. I think he's going to be a pretty good corner/safety, and I think he would add more stability to our secondary.

Other than that, I would be pretty PO'd if we took Bosa, Buckner, Jack or Tunsil (well, I could warm to him) over Elliott.

Signing isn't an issue. Each draft slot is allocated a certain amount of money, so the 1st pick already knows what they are getting At least this is what they were saying on Sirius the other day with Mark Dominick.

If Zeke's the call at #4 (or any other offensive player), do y'all think that means the Cowboys almost have to go defense with their second pick?

Yep and I think it's DL. Dodd/Clark are who I think will be targets.

Just like they saw Dion in Claiborne. This pick will set us back, if it comes to fruition.

Out of curiosity, how does selecting Elliott set the franchise back?

RB doesn't have the value over replacement, shelf life, durability or impact to justify this investment in today's NFL. You're investing the most valuable liquid asset we've had in well over a decade, and on top of that, you're making him one of the higher paid at the position on day one. Paying that money to a QB, LT, CB, or DL is a bargain. Paying it at RB is not.

And next years draft is loaded at RB. Chubb and Fournette are better than Elliot. In addition to them, you have Cook, Perine, Freeman, Mcaffery... We can get our RB of the future in the 2nd next year. Don't waste the #4.

I don't see Dallas taking Zeke at 4, and all these "reports" saying they are thinking of taking him makes me believe its more of a smoke screen the closer we get to the draft.

So, paying a QB @4 around $24M the 4-5 years TO SIT ON THE BENCH is a bargain? That is pure stupidity.
