LT Overton Camp

Jerry had this to say ab Overton after the draft: “We couldn't afford Osa [Odighizuwa]. We got a guy that got a lot of the things he does for a fourth."

.. and I think he may have been right.

Osa is a great comparison for Overton. And if he can be that good of a player..he will be a steal.

My question is.. when can we start calling him LT. :p

Could actually turn out to be a decent 4th round pick. I didn't like the pick at first but he is quietly having a good camp. Gave Booker fits here.

He plays with violence:

This is one of the few times I've seen him mentioned this training camp. Wasn't sure if he was looking good or bad. Didn't really notice him in the preseason game.

I just remember him getting pile-drived on a run in the game. The OL had initial double team help but that was my introduction to him. That video above was his best rep for all his snaps, otherwise not much else for the game. What did he grade out at on PFF?

Yup, I can’t stand the new rap, full of swear words and references to guns.

I still listen to rap from the early 90’s when things were more wholesome, I jam the Geto Boys almost everyday at the gym. Songs like Gangsta of Love that really hit home and brought out those warm fuzzy feelings, they sure don’t make songs like that anymore.

I just don’t expect much year 1. I think he needs to be bigger to be disruptive in this defense since he isn’t all that quick. Love hearing he is off to a decent start and hoping he proves me wrong. I think he is a real lunch pail type guy and I love that type of player

DT LT Overton...

Overton is a big strong dude but he struggles with technique. Against the pass he often rushes without a plan. If he finds his way to the 53 he will probably spend his rookie season as a gameday inactive.

Can't ever count out an Alabama player unlike Michigan. Although that NIL money mighy change Alabama culture in the future.

Kid has the tools. Just need to see if they can fix all the little things and get the mental side down. If he can put it together, he can be a mean 3-4 end. Hes got till the end of year 3 to prove his role on the team.

I'm not sold on him yet he made a play in camp on the last day and he's been having a good camp, such a good camp that we're now hearing about him

I agree. I think he'll be a good one. Right now he can sit and learn because the top 4 interior linemen will be Quinnen, Clark, Ogbonnia, and probably Bullard.

I'm not expecting much out of Lawrence this first year either. Just hoping a light comes on for him towards the end of the season. So Overton I have no expectations of this year at all.
