In the end, this was like cutting the water boy.

Lucky was a terrible football player. Constant dumb decisions on and off the field. Mediocre at best returner. Hands of stone. Useless except for an end around now and again, and lots of players can do that.

And if they actually handled it that way, it would be fine.

They didn't.

It isn't.

Dont matter if it's Brad Sham this looks bad and if this was a better player folks would be itching to high heavens about it. I'm a believer that if you stay consistent you will avoid most of this type of stuff. If they would either give everybody a fair shake or cut folks with no regards it's nothing none of us could say but this just looks bad no matter how some see it because of his talent.

It's just funny how some people will complain about unfair treatment and being equal when it's them but if it's not them it's okay it was deserved. If this doesn't fit you then I'm not talking about you at all.

You'd have to be naive to think all players get treated equally in the NFL. One look at their contracts makes it clear that's not how it works. If you're really good, you get a long rope. Want more rope? Be a better player.

When your drama eclipses your skills, guess what happens? No matter who you are. That's the part that's equal for everybody.

Lucky's problem was that he's not skilled enough.

Absofrickinlutely they did.

Did the guy deserve to be cut? Sure, but not for something he didn't do.

And that is absolutely what happened.

I disagree. As soon as having you off the team helps more than having you on it helps, the team has every right to cut you.

Fair or not, Lucky was a big distraction at the start of camp, and a player without much shot at making the team. It sucks, but it got him cut early.

You just said he deserved to be cut. That means there were reasons before this incident. This incident may have been the catalyst but it is not the sole reason. He has had multiple situations that have caused a lack of trust and the team has added more talent at the WR position. I may agree the optics look bad but Whitehead no longer being a Cowboy is probably right where we should be based on a whole host of issues.

There were 10 reasons to do it, probably 20 more we don't even know about.

Even this stupid dog thing. That was just bizarre. I wouldn't be surprised if he's involved still in this Virginia incident. How does a guy have your birthday and social security number? Weird, weird, weird.

Explain how that was the case? Especially after the team had him out there for camp?

Not "fair". Not right, not accurate, not professional. And this is coming from a guy who wanted this guy gone a long time ago. It's not cutting him, it's cutting him for something he never did. And that's exactly what this was.

Spin away.

I'm not disputing that. I'm pointing out the sad fact that the team released him based on false information. They had plenty of ammo before and chose not to do it. But then made a decision based on a lie.

They look stupid.

You can make assumptions to make the Cowboys look less dumb if you want. Doesn't make any of it true.

What is true is that the guy got cut for something he didn't do.

And the team looks stupid.

Lucky never should have been brought back to begin with. It's about time he was cut. I feel bad for him being falsely accused and everything but that has nothing to do with his football skills. His spot was done as soon as Switzer was drafted.

As they said, it was an accumulation of issues with Lucky. And he created a massive distraction at the start of camp. When you're a roster longshot, that's all it takes.

Accuracy, professionalism, you're own inability to see you're wrong on this one, those things have nothing to do with it.

If you have more value, you get more rope. Nothing new there, that's life.

I'll admit it's pretty amusing, Lucky was mostly hated on this forum. Game day threads are brutal on him. Then he's cut, and all hell breaks loose. Haha, right.

The dog thing was weird. That doesn't really just happen. Whether the "hood" was taking advantage of him or something, I don't know. Just odd.

I feel for him, because I was probably one of his least harsh critics. I'm also inclined to believe that if he'd been a little more transparent this wouldn't be a big deal. We're a pretty forgiving team, obviously. They thought it best to move on. That's business.

Tell me how "he created a massive distraction at the start of camp"?

Explain this.

Accuracy, professionalism, you're own inability to see you're wrong on this one, those things have nothing to do with it.

You'll need to explain this sentence as well.
