RELEASED Lucky Whitehead Cut **merged**

I don't see why. This was the straw that broke the camel's back for Lucky, but it was a legitimate distraction to the team for the player who could probably least afford it. The team was perfectly justified in moving on, given the resources they'd already devoted to replacing him.

And it's not the team's fault the police department issued an arrest warrant in error, anyway. If it weren't the Dallas Cowboys, nobody would care about a WR5/PR2 was released after a story like yesterday's.
Probably most of the country doesn't even know who Lucky was. Only that's he's a Cowboy. That's what sells.

Well for one, they could have waited an hour or so. I mean it took less than a day for people to realize it was mistaken identity.

They tried to make an example out of Lucky given all the other off the field stuff that went on with this team. The final straw turned out to be something the kid didn't even do. Think about that for a second. All this other stuff went on with him and they kept him but then he's falsely named in a crime and that's the straw that broke the camel's back? That's hilarious.

In the end, it's quite simple. They cut a guy in under two hours thinking he was guilty of a crime and hours later it was discovered it was a bogus claim. Then the Cowboys PR machine went to work having stories leak that Lucky was a bad seed to try to mitigate the damage.

Other than Cowboys fans, no one is really buying it.

Other than a few board members, no one really cares.

It's funny how most Cowboys didn't want him anyways and was happy he was guilty and then ecstatic he was cut. No one actually cares about competition anymore. What's done is done, I just wish I had the opportunity to see he and the new guy battle it out, instead, he's now handed a nice little job with ZERO effort.

Cutting Whitehead doesn't mean no one doesn't care about competition. Dallas can still bring someone in as competition. From what we saw from Whitehead the last 2 seasons, he wouldn't have provided much competition this year.

That is true but lets be honest. The Cowboys really dont need Lucky. Besides Zeke and Wilson NO OTHER starter on this team had legal issues. If Lucky was a starter trust me they would have given him due process. They did Lucky a favor to actually land on another team and play.

I love it even more now that he was innocent! This is how you send a message...they will release you even if you didn't do anything wrong. Change the culture, make it uncomfortable...if Lucky is the scapegoat then so be it. There are guys on that 53 man roster who probably feel even worse about their off-the-field actions now because they know they're partly to blame for him being gone.

its funny so many here that called for Lucky's "head" right now when this broke are now now skewering the same management they were calling gutless, no accountability, etc. I swear most of the posters here must be on meds

Lucky was expendable, used to make a statement to others. "If you are going to screw up, better be indispensable.

Can't say I've read 24 pages but I really didn't know this many people cared about Lucky

Why he didn't get a Lucky Charms commercial, I have no clue.

:lmao2: I've been swimming thru this regurgitation for the past 20 minutes,as I saw where someone pulled a quote from @Risen Star calling him a TROLL,, and I've been searching frantically in vain trying to find Risen's original post to slap a big happy "like" on what is obviously another great contributing post this forum has been gracefully blessed with by risen,,,and to be honest swimming thru all this regurgitation is pretty disgusting and rather tiringo_O

I think I got insulted but I couldn't understand a word of it so I let it go. lol This thread is strange.

I'd disagree with that characterization. One, Lucky wasn't a bad seed. Two, he was most definitely already on his way out. They didn't spend a fourth on his replacement for nothing.

The story yesterday was just the nail in the coffin. The net result was the same as it was going to be anyway. And it was still a distraction right at the start of camp. Like Dez said, no player comes before the good of the team.

That dog story suddenly seems sketchy.

A play for sympathy perhaps?
Someone posted his 'updated' wiki page,,said the dog knapper demanded 10k,,, lucky chipped it down to an undisclosed amount and PAID ,,, apparently terms were met and the drop transpired the next day, BLITZ & LUCKY were reunited once again ,,,and now you know the rest of what Paul Harvey knows
