So why didn't they cut him earlier in the offseason? They knew Switzer was gonna be the guy, so why'd they keep him around?
There's a thing called injuries and prospects not living up to their hype.
Personally, my *guess* is that they didn't like the people that Lucky was hanging around with and the dog theft incident made them very suspicious of that and possibly the fact that the dog was kidnapped for ransom because of something that Lucky did (again, possible).
Then this incident came along and he was skating on thin ice and combined with the issues that EE, Lewis, Irving, etc. have had they cut the chord.
I just have a problem with getting things wrong. Cutting a guy who may very well had nothing to do with any of this is as bad as keeping a guy that did something very illegal and violent that there was no excuse for him doing.
We did our best to keep Josh freaking Brent, Randy Gregory and Rolando McClain. If you want to set a standard for accountability, it starts with getting things right. It's like Parcells said '
