Look, I don't think anyone with a functional brain sees this as a true reaction meant to do something, like put an undisciplined mess of a team on notice.

But the team at least tried to put on a public front that will at least really impress those who are mesmerized by shiny objects.
Equally ridiculous then are fans asking for some mythical sacrificial move. It's always been a matter of how much value do you have. This is true for every team.

PR comes in many forms.

The Cowboys, for once, took action on a clearly expendable player.

That said, I bet that there are fans right now who think that this team does not tolerate dumb players because of this cut.

Personally, my *guess* is that they didn't like the people that Lucky was hanging around with and the dog theft incident made them very suspicious of that and possibly the fact that the dog was kidnapped for ransom because of something that Lucky did (again, possible).

Its kind of like OJ, now that Lucky has been cut he can spend time looking for the real dognappers.

Just when I thought this offseason couldn't get any worse this happens and they cut Lucky Whitehead.

This offseason just totally redeemed itself.

What message is that exactly? That if you were planned on not making the roster anyways, any arrest or violation will just expedite the process? Hardly a message at all. The message is still clear: If you have talent or in a position of need, you will not get cut. Damien Wilson brandished a weapon at someone and is still here. Carroll got a DWI and is still here. Why? Because they are needed. Whitehead was a spare and not needed.

I disagree. He needed to get cut. If he stayed it would have sent the wrong message to the team. You can question that all you want but there was no justification for him staying. Wilson needs to go as well as Gregory. They are distractions period.

Maybe the Rodney Whitehead who actually committed the crime is better than the Lucky Whitehead the Cowboys just cut.
not likely cop caught him in the parking lot several minutes later, talk about no burst and elusiveness.
