Whitehead is swearing up and down that it wasn't him. And, if that's the case, it's a safe bet that he and his agent will go to great lengths to have him cleared in this one.
And it will, in turn, make the Cowboys look dumb for cutting him for something he didn't do. Not that the guy didn't deserve to be cut, only that he's didn't deserve to be cut for something he never did.
And they can say whatever they want about "accumulation", but it doesn't fly when it was done the day that the shoplifting story broke and the first day of camp.
Whitehead wasn't making the team anyway, and had more than his share of chances, but if he had nothing to do with the incident that got him cut? It's a bad look for this team, no matter how anyone may try to spin it or dismiss it.
