LVE? He's great, he sucks, he's Kuechly, he's Barbie!! Honestly, we like out Day 1 draft guy to start. Only way that happens is if the General or Jaylon get injured in the pre-season. Does a team draft day 1 based on potential injury to the known starters? NO!! Do we need depth... for sure.

Add Kevin Brooks from the Landry era, 1st round draft pick that didn't even make it to TC I believe. Around early to mid 80's I think.
I think he was a LB, maybe DL, can't recall for sure.
DT from Michigan

I believe this one thing only. Most of us want D with pick 19. That's why we try to convince ourselves that Collins is moving to LG and Flemming is starting RT pedigree. We can convince ourselves of just about anything then be disappointed on draft day. Expect just about anything tomorrow night. Guaranteed, some will be happy and some will throw the phone, TV set. tablet out the window. That's a given

Kevin Brooks was drafted 17th in the 1985 draft (DL) and played for us for four years. He started 26 games and had 12.5 sacks. Not saying he wasn't a bust but he made it through 4 TC's. Maybe you were thinking of someone else?

I'd be ecstatic if we nab Derwin James, our secondary would be insane!

That would be awesome if we got him but I think he goes top 10.

He's the 2nd or 3rd best talent in this draft.

If anyone slides I got a feeling it's Fitzpatrick which I would think about moving up for. He's a playmaker.

Oh really Jazz, you had to bring that up. SMDH!

That was supposed to be Jerry Rice but that d**n Bill Walsh jumped in front of us!

Fitz will not fall below James. Fitz will be the 2nd defensive player taken after Chubb, no doubt.

Kuechly and Urlacher weren't even drafted that high.

This is all about projection. That's how the draft works.

That's why a guy like Demarcus Ware can come from nowhere and be a top 15 draft pick.

Keuchly was drafted very high. Top 5 or so.

I'm not a fan of LVE anywhere in the first round but come on! Cam Lawrence? That dude was the ultimate scrub.

Or he could be what Rolando Mcclain was for us.
i think Evans looks closer to RMClain but i havent watched enough of either to know a lot about them but looking at highlights and body types etc..EVans might fit the MLB role better..

I just don't trust it. He played against lower talent at boise state. 1 year starter and relied on his athleticism to be able to cut off angles and make tackles. Still struggled to get off blocks despite size. Might be great one day, but no thanks. Rashaan Evans is a better player.

LVE has the better MLB size, but despite size he did have some trouble getting off blocks against lesser talent.

Talent > Competition.

We learned this with Carson Wentz. Your opponents talent means nothing.

Vander Esch destroyed Oregon too.
