Thanks, knew he was from Michigan, and thought he was a DT after I posted that.
But still Landry and Schramm and Brandt had their screw ups. Billy Cannon Jr was another.
Cannon didn't play because of an injury.

I just don't trust it. He played against lower talent at boise state. 1 year starter and relied on his athleticism to be able to cut off angles and make tackles. Still struggled to get off blocks despite size. Might be great one day, but no thanks. Rashaan Evans is a better player.
Ware played at Troy. Romo played at Eastern Illinois. Too Tall Jones played at Tenn. St. I could go on and on. Eric Williams. Leon Lett. Larry Allen. Walter Payton. Jerry Rice. There are literally a thousand examples of great players that played against "lesser competition".

Cannon, if I remember correctly got hurt almost right at the beginning of his career, Remember Robert Shaw, a C from Tennessee and a 1st round pic?, I think he blew a knee out and never played much after that

Talent > Competition.

We learned this with Carson Wentz. Your opponents talent means nothing.

Vander Esch destroyed Oregon too.
Yeh we learned his team doesn't need him to win a SB that's what I learned about Wentz. Wentz dominated lesser competition. LVE didn't dominate.

my preference are the bama kids...Ridley,Payne or Evans.

but LVE is a damn good player.
Im gonna give him a chance before I torch'em...and he may not make it to 19.

Players that dominate lesser competition I am ok with. I dont think LVE "dominated" at boise state. Romo was not a "Great" player. And back in the day doesn't count it is not like it is nowadays with recruiting and everything.

LVE did dominate.

Against the Run. PFF graded him 6th best LB in the country. I think on another team he may have a high ceiling. I just don't see it with our team. We need playmakers on defense that create turnovers not another person who has tons of tackles. Evans is a playmaker, and can line up anywhere and be effective.

Vander Esch picked off some passes. He showed the ability to cover in the middle of the field.

I'd just like to stop the run this season. Last year we looked pathetic in patches. Evans right now is not an every down player. He was not asked to do much in coverage and he would only likely be effective at Wil (where we have an All-Pro caliber player already). I don't see Evans as a 4-3 Mike... at least at this point in his career (too light and short). I like LVE better in this regard.
