Well, yah, I don't agree with that and making excuses for "jap plays".

IMO, "jap plays" is much worse than anything that can be considered "cocky". And Wade's comments were not cocky.

Parcells "jap play" comment was not a joke. It was a slang term use to discribe a play that happen to be derogatory. There is a big difference in what Wade said along with the context he said it and what Parcells said and the context he said it.

I fully agree about the Parcells comment. He had no business using that term publicly and should have been shunned for saying it. Wade was just joking because of someone else disrupting what was happening. He by no means declared with full intent what was said, yet there were some who decided to report it that way only so it would grab public attention.

It's classless, tasteless, and only employed by grubby people.

Haha yeah i know what happened with the Wade comments, I was there.

However, I don't see anything inflammatory in Mac's article. Perhaps he said something bad on the radio?

Where did Mac Engel report it as Wade was serious in his tone?

He said clearly that Wade was playing to the crowd in the next sentence in the article.

Your rant on me about Mac, Skip and 'BSPN' (which you know you still watch daily) just shows that you are always against the media when a situation like this arises. You are biased against the media, which is funny because you are trying to make a point that the media is biased against the Cowboys.

Putting Mac Engel in the same class as Skip Bayless is just silly. One guy takes a direct quote from Wade and writes an article about the man (which by the way wasn't even an article that bashed him at all). The other guy just hates the Cowboys no matter what happens.

Yet you include them in the same class of journalism?

Are you trying to say I was making an excuse for Parcells using that term?

If so, then you are completely wrong.

My point was that he made the comment in a public forum because he didn't think it was a derogratory term. He was wrong and hopefully learned something from it.

Do you honestly think Parcells is that stupid? That he knew the term was seen as racist and he still said it into an open mic?

I agree to a point. I actually think that he was just being Parcells... saying whatever is on his mind at that moment. He wouldn't have said it had he thought it out. But anyone who knows the English language knows that the term "Jap" is racially derogatory.

Do you honestly think Parcells is that stupid? That he did not know the term "jap play" was seen as racist? What the hell do you think jap stands for?

And I really think it's funny that you're saying that Parcells can't be stupid enough to say jap play, yet you consider Wade an idiot enough to be cocky in front of the media.

douuuuuuuble standard.

You are 17. Go talk to people who were raised and lived in the time around WWII.

They you will have a better understanding of the matter, trust me.

Why is he going to lie to me? It's not like he went back on his feelings that Wade shouldn't have said it no matter what happened.

You make no sense bro. Besides the fact that you want to hate the media which is just an agenda that's driven because you're a homer.

He's going to lie because it looks bad for him when the true story comes out. And given his track record of hyperboles and mistruths, it really doesn't surprise me.

Look at his wife, who started "Camp Cupcake" last season. It didn't make a difference that even according to Peter King that about half of the teams run a similar training camp style, they'd rather just ignore that glaring fact and run with the tagline because it generates controversy.

I can name plenty of good/great journalists and I'm not afraid to do so. But guys like Mac and the Little Ball of Hack along with Mosely, Bayless, etc are not quality, professional journalists and should be exposed as such.

Do you have any thoughts that are your own?

Where did I say Wade was being cocky in front of the media?

Talking to you is like talking to the wall. I knew before I even read the article it was Wade being Wade. The man has never acted in manner that could be looked at as 'cocky' so why would I think he was beginning now at his age.

My entire point of all this was that Wade should know better to stand in front of the media and say something that can be taken out of context and used against him a later date. Read it again so you can understand it.

I give up with you on this.

So Engel is lying? You know where he was when the guy yelled it all 3-4 times and you know for a fact he heard it?

Funny how Engel's hearing magically worked when Wade said it and not the numerous times this guy yelled it.

Thank you.

Mac says he didn't hear it, but he was a journalist covering the event. Don't you think he should notice what is going on in the room?

Besides, you can't convince me that he wasn't trying to make the event more newsworthy by claiming Phillips made a brash, arrogant comment... even if he did say that Wade did it in a lighthearted way.

Heck, Mac even hints that he was trying to find something to write about when he mentions that this is a very slow time for sports news.

Mac was there and he should have conveyed what actually happened in a more accurate manner... and that would be by telling us that Phillips was repeating what a coach was continuously yelling at him. Even assuming Mac didn't hear what everyone else in the room apparently did... that doesn't give him a free pass for apparently daydreaming during the event he was suppost to be covering.

Mac said that Wade was on a microphone and the coach wasn't. Still, I find it hard to believe that he didn't hear the guy yelling.

Dargon was there... at the back of the room... and says that he heard the guy clearly. I trust that he is telling the truth. Why couldn't Mac hear the same thing from the same back of the room?

Yeah, you got me there...

Except for the fact that Wade was using a microphone!

If you say the same thing about Wade, shouldn't it hold true for Bill?

I do have thoughts of my own. Just because they happen to agree with others on this forum doesn't take away from my opinions. It strengthens them.

Your entire point was that Wade should fear the media? It's pointless to hate the media because it has nothing to do with a team's success (for the most part). It's equally pointless to fear the media.

If anything, I can understand a fan being worried about Wade being cocky. Honestly, that's the only problem i can see any fan having with this, and i assumed that was it.

Why are you so afraid of the media? Who CARES if they come and roast him for it? The fans will be MUCH, MUCH worse if he disappoints this season.
