If by the end of the day we're not hearing reports by credible people (Machota being one) that Kellen Moore is... in whatever squishy words they find necessary... expected to be offered the HC position, what you can know is... I got it wrong. :D For the record, and maybe for the first time ever (... in recent memory).

Moore doesn’t excite me, but I’ll definitely take him over Schottenheimer.
Agreed. I'm not thrilled about KM either, but I want to hear some better names that are also a realistic possibility.

Any coach that comes in is going to struggle IMO. Dallas has a deeply flawed roster & incompetent GM. No coach is coming in and winning championships. If that coach is KM, all his detractors will say I told you so. The smart fans will know the true root of the failure though.

I said it when he left that the Cowboys would regret it and we'd miss him.

I would personally welcome him back. But, then again, I'm a Kellen Moore fan.

I've never waivered on that. He understand football from an Xs and Os aspect a lot more than McCarthy, who is more of a generalist. Just not a good play caller, game manager or time manager. Still, he was a good coach. But Kellen knows football better than McCarthy.

We need improvement for the offense. I think Kellen brings that.

He's done well in the league regardless of what our whiney fanbase says about him. I like Ben Johnson too. But Moore is a great candidate.

OK, but only one question: Has he learned how to run the ball?

That is the only relevant question when referring to him as a coach.
Who is the #1 back in the league, one of like 9 to rush or over 2,000 yards? Answer that, and you have your answer.

Guy literally tried passing yesterday and could have lost the game for the Eagles. But sure!

You seem to think that the best OL coach and run game coordinator who was there 11 years has nothing to do with the run game. Its all Kellen!

Anyway, Moore will get more (see what I did there) out of players like Tolbert, Mingo, Cropper, Vaughn, Schoonmaker, Fergy, etc. He's way more innovative.

McCarthy should have never fired him. Or whatever.

Well, he is calling the plays.
2,000 yards of rushing doesn't come without a great OC....

So you think the guy who has made many RBs look great and a perennial top 5 OL over the last decade isnt a part of that?

Kellen couldnt run the ball with Pollard or Ekeler. But he managed to just figure it out in Philly? Sure thing.

People wanted young, innovative, new. Kellen has flaws with energy, motivation type stuff. But he's a great offensive mind and I think he'll make an excellent HC.
This team needs an offensive mind.

Anyone remember his game where he threw for over 500 yards for Dallas? You can't put up those kinds of numbers with that kind of athletic ability unless you REALLY know football.. Dude knows football.

But, I will say this. I still think they'll interview Ben Johnson.
Dude is really fast. :)

Sort of feels like the Garrett thing all over again. I got to admit I bought into Garrett early. I also thought Kellen would develop into a really good coach. Maybe he will. It won't work here though. Jerry gets smitten with these type of guys thinking he can catch lighting in a bottle. While also knowing he can be comfortable with these type of candidates. I just hope it is the last head coach he hires.
