I do not want Kellen, but can you imagine telling a 36 year old coaching candidate on an interview that you want him to have his 42 year old replacement on his staff. Good grief.
I just dont see how any HC would accept this, getting hired and then immediately being told you have to groom your replacement.

Jerry: "yeah, welcome to the Cowboys, could you do Jerra a good ole solid and train your replacement, dont worry you will get 3-4 yrs but we need Witt up to speed and ready to go at that point".

Kellen knows how Jerry operates. He should know that Dak is on the downside of his career with a cap killing contract, no real FA spending and a meddlesome owner. If he takes the job knowing this, then he isn’t as smart as many think he is. He is setup to fail from the get go.
And his replacement, Witten, will be put on his staff as a condition of employment.

Is KM going to self-sabotage himself like this?

Jerry thinks so highly of Moore that he fired him. I guess Jerry wants to be one of the few, if not the only, owner(s) who fired the same coach twice?
Why would Moore want to come back to this dumpster fire. Maybe Moore's into mental bondage, S&M, or humiliation? This is ridiculous...

Simply coming back here is sabotaging himself. What fool goes back to the same toxic environment that fired him?
Moore is the perfect head coach for Jerry as he must have low self-esteem.

They both are terrible. Moore almost blew the game yesterday with his need to pass the football when he running back is killing the Rams.
Yep that is Moore in a nutshell.
Never has figured out how to use a running game to close out games, or to give the defense a breather.
Thats why MM parted ways with him.

Moore's contract had expired when he left in 2022.

This moron is hiring Kellen Moore

He interviewed two Rooney rule candidates and Moore. And……. nobody else. So what’s that tell you?
Pretty obvious, yeah. All of the intrigue is from media looking for engagement.

There's a poster here who keeps saying 'look at what Jerry does, not what he says'. It's pretty obvious what's happening here. Really, our only hope is that Moore gets another job or simply turns Jerry down.

We just need to realize this franchise will be a joke until Jerry Jones is gone. Plain and simple. The stats of the Cowboys are now the longest running team to not do this just keeps continuing year after year. No light at the end of the tunnel. Look what happened to Washington when they changed the culture from the top down. Cowboys can’t change the culture until Jerry is gone and who knows, maybe his son will continue the suck Jerry legacy as well.

No please. Our only problem was MM with the same predictable playcalling and abandoning the run. Moore in his first year was using motion in the first 5 games or so but it fell off. Our O-Line is a penalty machine so we need a new O-Line coach. Need a good HC that lets his coordinators do there jobs.

Of course he is, would be another lazy hire on the part of Jerry. And no one else is gonna hire KM as HC . No one is that stupid.

Wait, you just said Deion's success was because of coaches like Mike Zimmer:huh:

Is this the same Mike Zimmer that coordinated a defense that lost like 5 consecutive home games by 20 or more points, a feat not accomplished since the early days of the Houston Oilers?

I tend to think Deion's success was more due to his ability to recruit and motivate, not because freaking Zimmy coordinated this awesome defense nobody in college had ever seen before, but maybe that is just me.
It's a little bit of both, recruiting, motivating, if you call it that. But his name and schtick as Prime Time, Coach Prime, whatever, helps him sure. But he's had some really good coordinators if you've followed him and paid attention. I've been watching Shedeur, Shilo, and Deion since Jackson State. That's one thing I noticed. Deion gives some input like, make sure we're passing to routes that cross the first down marker, and things like that. But the assistants are doing all of the Xs and Os work from what I can tell.

The fact nobody wants him here....tells me we are headed in the right direction. Quit listening to the media....it's evil.
And our fans are not the brightest on the whole, so yeah. Kellen knows what he's doing. Far from a moron.

Yeah, he looks like Leave it to Beaver. So what?
Exactly................and here is the problem with Boy Wonder.

In Dallas, the oline is a joke, this aint Philly. There will be no gigantic craters being opened up for our RBs. Speaking of our backs, we aint got no Barkley, we got the worst RB room in the freaking league. There will be no 50 yard runs several times a game.

So, that means we got to throw the ball, a lot. Considering our $60 million dollar QB is a gimp now and cant run, we are looking at 40+ passes a game? With Dak?

That aint gonna work chief, I telling you right now having Dak play "air raid" ball is not a recipe for success.
Oline will improve next year. They need to move Guyton to RT and T. Smith back to LT. I think a coach like Kellen will be smart enough to do something with the oline. Anyway, I'd take Kellen over McCarthy right now. Just because McCarthy can't get over the hump, so let's try something new.

Fact: Mike McCarthy made the playoffs with the Cowboys 3 consecutive seasons, something that the Cowboys last did in 1994-96.
We may well be worse next season.
Thanks Jerruh!

He really would be looked at as a clown if he agreed to this.
