I am actually planning on getting this, havent had a Madden since 07 and havent missed it, I cant wait to head out for lunch and pick it up.

Pretty sweet game so far. I dig the Super Star mode except there are a few too many injuries.

Started my Cowboys franchise and so far it's pretty good (first thing I did was resign Ware, lol), I would hope it's the most realistic seeing it's been the only choice for 4 years now, but I won't get into all that.

The gameplay itself is definitely improved over last year and the presentation is better. It's definitely more evolutionary than revolutionary, they seem to have spent a fair amount of time fixing the things they flat out got wrong last year, which is always welcome.

Can't wait to try the online league.

Why? That's far from the most realistic football game. If that game had been $50, it wouldn't be as overhyped as it is today, it would have been just another football game.

Nah. 2k5 was a pretty good game any way you slice it and regardless of what you think of 2k5 vs Madden, it's a shame there's no competition there anymore, both games would be better for it.

It really doesnt, the tackling in this game is still absolutely ********. Protak or whatever they call it is a joke.

Well considering it's had 4 years of development on 2K and just got online leagues, I'd say it's better but doesn't blow the game out of the water.

The biggest advancements come in the mechanics of the game, which I dare say 2k5 would be up to par with if they had the same amount of time to work on it.

2k5 is still ahead in many factors. They had intelligent linemen who knew how to pull properly, they had good offensive line/defensive line interactions, where its just a hugfest in Madden. Their gangtackling engine is still superior to anything I have ever seen in Madden.

Oh, and the 3-4 is still broken. It gets gashed by the run and generates little passrush because no one at EA knows that the nose gets doubled.

Yeah, they definitely havent figured out the 3-4, and I don't think they have even made an attempt to really. The game treats it like any other formation. It's extremely difficult to get any pressure unless you're bringing major heat. I thought with the way they updated the blocking and the stats that finally Ware would look like the superstar he is, but he's still getting stonewalled by nobodies.

So I made a online franchise with some of my buddies..

You have to sit through 54 rounds!!!! You can pause it and pick it up the next day but still. It took almost 2 hours to finish and that was with only 4 people and using 15 seconds after round 23..

Ya it's really glitchy for me. I'm gunna wait till they patch it up.
