Thoughts? How does your depth chart look?

I put Dez in the slot constantly, and I've been using Dixon as my starting SS.

Dixon has 91 speed and can lay the wood decently!

I've been getting shredded against top teams on defense... I really think it is a step in the right direction though.

Spent too much time in franchise checking out the option where I only had time to play one game.
I have Durant-Lee(to hell with existing injuries)-Carter with Selvie-Melton-McClain-Lawerence(with Spencer backing up both spots.)

Defensively..has been interesting. Started out on All-Pro due to not playing Madden since 2012(11min quarters). Definitely punting more than previous years.

Talk more about franchise mode. What are your impressions?

Its actually a pretty good step forward.

The UI is a little funky and I don't have enough time to make adjustments pre snap though. Less injuries which is good.

Haven't gone past week 1 of the regular season, so it's still too early to have any solid impressions about it. Tonight I'll try to put 2-3 hours into it.

Tried the owner mode, but back out after realizing how much more is needed to be done, and IDGAF about hot dog prices/toliets being clean. Would of been too much to monitor controlling two teams.

Currently running a Coaches Franchise mode.
I can't tell if it's the new confidence rating yet, but some players have had their overall rating jump 3-4(+/-) points over a simmed game and then stay at that new level for a couple of weeks(to where I'm at now).

Please say what system you have. I still have a 360, and the reviews on Amazon on the 360 is that is a regurgitated Madden 25, which I am fine with, since I just wanted an updated roster.

I have Madden on PS4 and would say it is the best version in years. Franchise (Select Coaching Mode) unless you want to worry about concession prices, advertising, etc. Turned off pre-existing injuries after initially starting with them included but hated not having Lee and Lawrence on the squad. Position changes are still not allowed outside of the player's primary position. No CB to FS, no OLB to RE, etc. That frustrates me but have learned to manage. Have Crawford as my starting NT, with Spencer/Lawrence on the edges. I have the DE sub rate up so Selvie is rotated in frequently. The gameplan prep can become a bit tedious after tinkering with it only for the preseason (simmed) and first 3 games. Traded M.Johnson/Heath to the Skins for a 4th :D

SF ran all day on me, but didn't seem to matter whether McClain/Okoye were in there for run support so went with the better pass rush in Crawford. (You can specifically sub in McClain as the NT in specific 4-3/3-4/46/4-4 alignments).

Gameplay: Much improved. Still see the flailing animations at times but have cleaned that up. Gang tackling feels more natural. The CPU secondary is supped up in All Madden so no more easy posts/seams down the slot. You can still throw them but must be timed more precisely. Presentation is improved in that they display relevant statistics during the game and the overall atmosphere in the stadiums is much improved as well. Murray/Dez are monsters and Romo is good but does fumble alot when taking sacks. Pass protection is give and take...most sacks have been on me for holding the ball too long. Melton/Spencer are the best pass rushers on the team by far.

9/10 esp considering previous versions.

Anyone mind posting the roster with player ratings? I haven't owned a system since SNES but I've always been interested in the player ratings each year (the overall rating, not the million other subratings).

Good game, the passing and receiving seems more realistic to me. Players actually jump up to try and catch the pass, unlike madden 25.

Not enough scouting points in this game, even with double XP i can still only scout around 9-10 players...One of my few complaints so far.

No need to scout, wait until someone figures out the draft, and then use their spread sheet.

The best part about a two team franchise is you can scout 2x players. Lol

After 3 games into my all pro franchise, I'm tweaking sliders. After a close, realistic game versus the 49ers, which included 4 punts total the rams and titans never punted. Bradford finished 25-27 for 3xx yards and that was a 45-42 win. Even the titans game was in the 40s due to the titans never punting and me going on it on 4th down to stay in the game.

No matter if I'm in zone or man, the defensive player lays up for a second and the receiver always gets separation once the ball is thrown. While the opposing defense plays like Sherman and Revis are their starting cbs.
Still a fun game, but a tad frustrating when the opposing qb passing percentage is 90%+

Yeah I'm getting it handed to me on All Madden right now (0-4) losing 2 close ones and blown out of 2. The running game is difficult, but found it easier to run by avoiding R2 as you get the ball. Only hit R2 in the open field bc it causes the defenders to "quick twitch/suction" towards you for the tackle. Deep outs/ins, slants (when D is pressed), crosses, and corner routes have been the best ways to pass down the field for me so far. I have yet to complete a lob bomb that wasn't picked. Still getting back into it after a couple of years off of really playing. Had fun in every game though. Romo has 7 TDs and 11 INTS (all on me):D. Started using GB playbook and helped greatly with my passing game.

Hate to agree with Cashman on draft philosophy, but bc of the slow progression and available XP, it is the only way to get legitimate 1st/2nd round contributors. If they start in the 60's, you are looking at a nearly impossible uphill battle to build lower rated rooks as worthy players. Speed will always be priority #1, this is still Madden after all.

Really? That is a positive tbh...better start using those scouting points more critically. Thanks for that heads up.

Yeah, that's why i'm confused at the lack of scouting points this year. But it does add challenge, which i like.
