Really liked this player out of Ohio St. Is a playmaker that had injuries in the NFL. But when on the field, Hooker made plays. Not enough for the Colts. So the Cowboys got the low risk high reward from a Top 15 selection in the 2017 NFL draft.

Even with the injury to Wilson, the safety position is strong and has depth (stay healthy).

Don’t get why he’s losing 50k a day (it’s non recoupable btw) and holding out. Just come to camp and “hold-in”. That way you save your money and still make your point.

So strange to me
Hold in?

What does that even mean? The threat of him not playing is his only real leverage so why show up?

Didn't seem like a priority extension target for the organization, but whatever I guess.

Either we're running out of Hooker jokes or we are maturing.

We're running out of Hooker jokes.
If someone can parlay this into a TJ Hooker joke, they win the internet. Not that more than 5% of this board even knows who that is.

Really never heard of a hold-in?

“A "hold-in" is when a player arrives at training camp on time but chooses not to participate in practices because of a contract dispute.

49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and Chargers safety Derwin James each came into camp dissatisfied with what their respective teams have been offering them. So they aren't participating in practice.

In other words, they're conducting a ’hold-in.’”

“More than a few players, in lieu of holding out at the start of training camp, showed up but didn’t practice. In every case, their teams allowed it.

And so a new kind of hold-in was born. Previously, the term as used in NFL circles referred to a player who either embellished or fabricated an injury in order to not practice. Now, the teams seem to simply shrug at the notion that a player who isn’t happy with his contract will show up for camp but participate in on-field drills until it the problem is solved.”

So, a theee year extension keeps Hooker in Dallas for 4 more seasons - this year, plus 3 more.

Not really parlaying a joke, but just hearing TJ Hooker reminded me of this.

This is somewhat surprising, many thought he could be on the bubble this yr. However, heard Quinn praise him recently
