Davis is the second of five Florida-bred players who visited Texas in November during the weekend the Longhorns beat West Virginia. Linebacker Cecil Cherry, a 3-star recruit from that group, committed to Texas on Dec. 15.
The other members—tight end Devonaire Clarington, athlete Tim Irvin and wide receiver Gilbert Johnson—remain uncommitted, though Clarington and Irvin are scheduled to announce their pledges during Saturday's U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
 
Clarington, that's 3. hookem. first tight end committed to UT since 2011. thanks for getting fat and lazy Mack.
 
Tim Irvin of the "Florida Five" is the nephew of Michael Irvin.
And a strong Texas lean. He will officially announce in the 3rd quarter of the game today.
So excited to see Clairngton pick up that burnt orange ball cap. :)
 
For Irvin it has to be between the U and UT.......too tough for me to call
 
major, and I do mean major attitude adjustment coming to Austin
 
If Gilbert Johnson commits to Texas, he will be the 6th Florida prospect in the class. The one not included in the Florida 5 is WR Burt.

Another prospect high on Texas is DT Daylon Mack, 6'1 330 out of Gladewater, TX.....Getting GJ and Mack would round out a huge recruiting class for Strong and the Horns.....I am stoked to get to next season already.

ignore this.....he did commit, but apparently the article I read was old....he took back his commitment and will not be attending UT.....I am bummed.
 
Gilbert Johnson is in. Hookem. 5 for 5 on the Florida 5. This is a good get because we're probably losing Burt to Auburn

USC has averaged an insanely high ranking(yes even on probation). Their issue has been like with Texas, they've missed badly on some 5 star kids.

You've got to have folks you trust on talent and not just offering the guys who score the best at the camps.
Those kids may not be very good at football.
A lot of it is how hard will a kid work on technique and is he coachable.
 
Interesting stuff happening with UT and recruits. Kyler Murray is back in play (and possibly even a UT lean, depending on who you read), which put Damarkus Lodge, Daylon Mack, Soso Jamabo and others in heavy play for Texas. All these guys have had visits at UT in the past week, and some cryptic tweets from current commits make it seem like something big is about to go down. (Although I'll believe it when I see it).





 
Somebody is going to hit the mother load on NSD.

There is a tweet floating around with Daylon Mack and Malik Jefferson flashing the Hook'em sign after having visited UT this weekend.

Don't know if it means anything but you can't feel good about that if you are A&M or TCU.
