UT is very well positioned.
TAMU going SEC is probably going to look like a mistake in a decade because even with top10 recruiting classes the battle on the field will be very uphill.

UT really has little Big 12 comp as far as finances, name recognition, facilities or location.

OU has been falling off in recruiting which is kinda strange but rectifiable if they get back to hitting California hard.

I agree JT. In fact, one of the biggest surprises, for me this year, is how little OU has really impacted recruiting in Texas. They have signed a couple of decent OLs prospects but overall, not a lot out of them.

OU was probably the best recruiters of DFW area talent.
TCU coming to the Big 12, Baylor ascending and TAMU moving got her SEC has hurt them.

UT always pulled top classes but those kids committed early and were largely camp darlings that had little high school playoff success behind them. OU would come in behind them and get the better actual players. Aggies always did OK but didn't win the top recruiting battles often. Everyone else was on scraps.

Seems like all the improved recruiting has hit OU pretty directly.

Daylon Mack is going to be interesting. All the talk has been around Texas and A&M but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he ended up at TCU. I feel like he's liked TCU all along but who knows?

Didn't he just cancel his TCU visit?

He did cancel his OV but not his inhome visit with TCU. Gladwater is only like 2 hours from TCU so I'm sure he has had plenty of opportunity to visit TCU. He really hasn't said much about TCU but TCU has always been in the discussion on who is in his top choices. It's been A&M TCU or UT TCU or LSU TCU, they are always there. The others might change but not TCU. I just think he likes TCU. Don't know, we'll see.

In other news:

Kris Boyd CB and Holton Hill CB have both committed to Texas. Davante Davis CB confirmed his commitment to Texas yesterday.

Big signings for UT today, return of DBU. Hopefully we've done enough to snag Mack.

If Mack commits to Texas that is icing on the cake. But it would not hurt my feelings to see him in purple. TCU is my other favorite team.

I actually think it's important for Texas to land Mack. They are losing Brown this year and will probably lose Ridgeway early as well. Would be really important for them to have a DT in this class who can pick up the slack.

His dad was A&M's quarterback from 83-86. He was a great passer, and might have gone on to a solid NFL career except for a bad broken ankle he suffered. He led A&M to consecutive Top 10 finishes in 85 and 86, and A&M beat Bo Jackson's Auburn team in the Cotton bowl 36-16 at the end of the 85 season. AP also named Murray the Offensive Player of the Year that year.

That was the year, my 5th grade year, that I fell in love with the Aggies. My late father graduated from A&M and was in the core. Unfortunately, I lost interest in A&M after they decided to leave the Big 12, and when Manziel's head exploded. That, and the fact that A&M has decided to go with one uniform change after another, much like Oregon who in my opinion, has ruined college football uniforms for many schools.

Hook em Horns!
