Notice how after every score, all they did was give the ball to the ref and then shake hands with their teammates.
They, and everyone else, knew how good they were. They didn't have to celebrate incessantly.
They just kicked your *** on the field and went about their business. Too bad I wasn't alive to watch this greatness in person.

Nothing more important than celebrating like an idiot after making a tackle on a 2nd down. I do the robot every time I do my my job.

Beautiful play design and execution. Also underscore the professionalism and lack of self-promotion / flagrant celebration. In today's NFL, if any team could return to this level of professionalism, not only would it be refreshing, but it would also be intimidating to the opposing teams.

Yep, irks me to no end, players celebrating after catching a 4 yard pass on 3rd and 3 getting up and doing the first down signal. Dancing in the end zone after you caught a 14 yard pass only to look at the scoreboard and realize you are still behind 17 points.

Butch Johnson was known for the California Quake dance after a TD

Defenses have learned to handle screen passes a lot better these days,,, usually by holding the running back!

The Cowboys ran those screens better than anyone and it wasn't even close. And not only to the backs but to Billy Joe Dupree too.

Staubach's ball fakes were beautiful and the linemen - Donovan, Scott, Rafferty, Fitzgerald, Wright - could all get downfield and get bodies on the LBs and DBs.

Laidlaw showed some jets there. And, as always, Dorsett looked like he was shot out of a cannon. He was one of the most electrifying running backs to ever grace the field. No track training ever - the guy could roll out of bed in the morning and run a 4.3. Man, I miss him.

I do prefer when guys do not celebrate like we see in this video. But the NFL is now more of a production. Its more for entertainment purposes now. The NFL and NFLPA has ruined this great sport.

I was alive and loved it. On the other hand, I wouldn't be being a little younger...:)

Amen, Brother! On top of what you mentioned above, how many "celebration injuries" have occurred because of all the silliness? If I'm JG, I break out some of the old film and show 'em first hand how to go about business. But that's just me, a crotchety old man...

It has. I dont really have an issue with celebrating I just prefer the Barry Sanders approach to scoring a TD. I gotta admit I love seeing White Shoes Celbration every time i see those old clips

I get what your saying and never been a big fan of the TD celebration. 1 guy dancing when it took 10 others on the field to make it happen, yet the spotlight gets turned to the 1. Having said that it is nothing new to the league, just a lot more of it. I have always said as long as it does not cost my team 15 yards then fine but when the player brings a penalty because of his celebration then the coach needs to get on him.
