Manziel: "I grew up a Cowboys fan, I was born at halftime of a game, would be folktale to wear Star"

I won't lie. If we picked up Manziel I'd get caught in the moment and get excited. But that's more of an indicator of how desperate I am to be excited about this team because I just don't think he's a good pro-prospect.

So did Jamarcus russell

and many others

means diddly squat what he did in college

He is too small; not height wise but too thin and will get broken in half in three years or less.
Attitude will get him in trouble as well
A VERY MUCH SMALLER FAVRE VERY LITE

You're not allowed to hit the QB anymore, haven't you heard?

At this point, our team is closer to the bottom than the top...

I say go for it...put all our eggs in Johnny Football's basket. It will, at the very least, be different than what this team has brought out for the last 6-7 years...

He was a celebrity as a college player, I would hate to see him get anointed by the crypt keeper and see what he does with an NFL bankroll.

Never happen. Too many bad teams drafting in front of Dallas that have to sell hope, tickets, and gear.

Yet he wins games on the biggest stage in the best conference.

And he's already used to playing with a crappy defense so he's ready for this job.

Johnny Football has been one of the most fun players to watch in years.

But the list of college QBs that won big games on big stages in big confences..and even won Heismans...is much more filled with horrible NFL failures than winners.
That does not mean Manziel will fail, but just sayin'.

If he falls to 16-17 I would take him in a heartbeat. I wouldn't trade up to get him, but I think he has that secret sauce you can't teach.

I have no idea how good he'll be.
But I think "Cowboy Nation" would be, at least for the short term, the most excited they've been in 20 years.

Call me a bad fan all you want but I wish we lost 2 or 3 more games last year and never gave Romo that albatross of a contract. If we let Romo play out his contract, we'd be in a better position to turn the page on this aged loser core. It just makes too much sense to have Manziel wearing the star. The guy was born to lead this specific team back to the Super Bowl.

If he was there in the second I'd consider taking him. After this year, I am all for just working the trenches in the early parts of the draft. That is a plan for the long term, and a very effective one. I do think it is time to start drafting QBs this year and continuing until Romo retires and somebody shows they can lead the offense. If it all fails, a good defense would do wonders to keep us competitive if the young guns aren't playing well. And a good OL should make the average QB look better than he should.

Doesn't have close to an elite NFL arm and his athleticism was better than 80% of college players but is not better than the guys he'll be facing in the NFL.

What games did you watch, kid has a great arm and is extremely accurate.

Do you have a link of these weak throws? Thought so.

I feel the exact same way. I'm not a big fan of his but I want change around here. Romo sure as hell isn't getting it done right now. I could be wrong about Manziel... but I know I'm right about Romo.
