The reason Dak may get his extension, McCarthy may keep his job (even DQ), why some players don't get cut/traded until it's WAY TOO LATE to benefit the team...is Jerry's Ego. He's SOOOOOOO DETERMINED to prove he knows what he's doing and that he also had a big hand in those 3 Super Bowl Trophies that he will let the ship keep on sinking until that day comes.

So coaching and playing don't matter, it's ALL Jerry's fault.
Well then why do we want to fire MM, let Quinn walk and cut Dak.....it's not their fault, it's Jerry's fault.
who picked the players/coaches that keep failing? Ranch i respect your opinion on football but man... there is a culture issue with this franchise..the GM/Owner has to take ownership of that problem...he himself says he signs off on everything gameday related....

Coaching matters. Imagine if you were coaching a team sir and some drunken moron would come sit in on all of your meetings, talk on the radio about the team, and on top of that, tell YOUR players that if they have any issues to come directly to him and not you.

That is the problem.

I hate the idea of firing a successful coach, but it's going to take a special coach to unwrap all of the bad that the Jones family has done to this franchise. Belichick, Harbaugh, or keep McCarthy. There's no sense in changing for the sake of change. There are viable options out there and it would be a terrible move to not go after one of those guys and make it happen.

If Jerry would quit throwing interceptions and choking when he comes up against good defense we could win it all. Jerry sucks, and quit playing zone Jerry. you loser

Ranching, you can have a great coach and the most talented players in the world. But, if those players know that the only thing that matters is what Coach Jones says, that coach will NEVER fully be able to get these guys to buy in. Jimmy would cut underachievers all the time. Yet, this club stays littered with them, and, in fact, some of them get extensions.

The problem is that this is only a problem with fans. Jerry makes $$$$ and $$$$ is all that matters in the entertainment industry (the NFL is entertainment). Jerry knows how to make $$$$ better than anyone in the NFL. It is not a problem for Jerry, the NFL or the players. It is a problem for fans and those fans continue to spend money, time and effort on the Cowboys. When fans stop is when Jerry will change. We need Cowboys fans to become bandwagon fans so Jerry gets hurt in the pockets. The real problem is fans continue to spend and care about the Cowboys. When fans change Jerry will change.

fans changed before Romo..what changed, again the stadium was empty the Cowboys sucked...Jerry started changing the HC and then set in on this "I can get credit for the next Tom Landry" thing..no matter what the fans do the one thing that needs to change about Jerry will not change..he would rather burn this Franchise to the ground than not get 100% of the credit for the next trophy..youll need to get that through your heads.

A couple of other noteworthy sound bites that I have run across on the internet lately:

1) The first from Marcus Spears during an appearance on the Dan Patrick show: "Jerry really wants to win; he just does NOT know HOW to win."

2) The second from Jimmy Johnson on the Sunday Fox show: "Jerry can never admit when he is wrong. He just cannot do it."
