@KavnerDC: Whoa. Cowboys make move of Linehan as passing game coordinator/play caller official... Also announce Callahan will be teams OC/Oline coach.

@RainerSabinDMN: #Cowboys also announce that Rod Marinelli is the new defensive coordinator and Monte Kiffin will be the assistant head coach/defense.

Sounds to me like they wanted to elevate Marinelli but had to appease his loyalty to the old man. So they create some nonsense position like assistant head coach/defense.

On a side note, this is such a typical Cowboys move. It's Superbowl week, and anytime there's been any Cowboys news in recent years, it's been leading up to the game.
