Another draft, another failure to put any real assets into the 1 Tech. Guess it will be Collins and Price.

But we took another low ceiling, high motor player in Armstrong, a quintessential Marinelli pick. Settle is sitting there and we take a decent but likely backup caliber DE prospect that plays hard.

I really don’t understand why this franchise fears or eschews putting even some decent assets into the DT spot.

Agree. We did get 5 players in Gil Brandt 150 best players in this year draft. All 5 were in the top 120 but that is not saying much since it Brandt's list.

And I just realized it was the Eagles who took Sweat after us.

I mean if you wanted to go DE there take the higher ceiling guy. Both have injury concerns.

how many times do we have to go over this, the cowboys do not value having a 1 tech in their scheme....if they did they would have drafted one many times over.....

you are saying the same thing that is being said in other threads and is said every year. Why cant you come to the realization, they dont value one and are not going to do what you want them to.

Poona Ford would be a nice 7th round add.

But honestly, I don't think anyone had Settle rated that highly, given how he fell deep into the fifth. That's less of a Dallas thing and more of an NFL thing.

Because at some point reality should set in for this franchise and our GMs have to stop cowtailong to the whims of a DC that likely has a short shelf life.

Brandt is one of the most respected talent evaluators in the business.
I stand corrected. i could be wrong but I was thinking of those late 90's early 2000's picks like Shante Carver, Quincy Carter. Don't know if he was part of that dismal drafting years.

He has three to use with Collins, Price and Ash. They will most likely get someone who is released during TC to compete.
