Marion Barber signing going to come back and hurt us

I think the big contract we gave him will hurt us. He has not been able to produce this season. He only averaged 3.7 yards a carry almost the worst in the NFL and both rookies averaged more than he did.

Don't know that it will hurt us because I believe it's fairly cap friendly.

But if these backs are used in what I believe to be the most effective fashion - Choice, Jones with a handful of plays and Barber as closer - then he will be overpaid for his role.

I'd like to think he will be evaluated after being behind a successful running game overall for the Cowboys while being healthy. If he can't produce under those circumstances then yes we made a mistake.

Even when he was healthy he was not breaking tackles and making cuts like he used to.

Not only are all three gonna stay, especially after having both Barber and Felix get hurt and having to rely on the 3rd string guy (especially with how much they resisted even activating Coleman) but Choice will once again see limited action unless someone gets hurt.

They'd be stupid to waste such good running back depth.

Knowing how deep the RB position was for the draft, a team like New England would have franchised him for this year and then let him go.

Jerry falls in love with his players and overpays them. That is his biggest fault besides many. You don't lock in all your players. There needs to be a revolving door and let the players be on edge.

Maybe we had better just stop. We as a collective fanbase AND along with owner may know nothing. And lo 'n behold, the coaches may just know more. 13-3 with Julius Jones as the starter and Barber backing him up.........9-8 since MBIII took over last January.

This is what WE wanted.

We called for the big, flashy guy. Jerry liked that same "flashy" and the coaches then damned.

Sadly, I believe so too. I just hope he doesn't dangle Choice. Choice has a very bright future.

I like the Barber signing because he brings attitude to the offense. However he shouldn't of been paid like a #1 running back. Barber is not a LT, LJ, AP or
Frank Gore. I think Jerry falls in love with his home grown players and tends to over pay. IE Flozell, Newman, Gurode and Roy38..

True. I love the toughness Barber brings to this team, but he's not nor will he ever be a #1 in this league.



That being said, I dont wanna get rid of Barber. I just want him back to where he was his first two years in the league. Coming off the bench and getting the brunt of the carries before the half and in the 4th quarter.

Ware is a totally different subject.. Ware is the special player. Barber is not a every down back. RB's average about a 3 year career. The way Barber runs is not a smart business to sign him to a large long term deal.. Name a running back that got a large long term deal that his club doesnt regret..

There's no comparison so quit trying to act like there is one. Ware is THE elite pass rusher in this league. Barber is not even an elite back.

I was one of the ones who had my doubts about Barber as a full-time back, but come on, people. If Jerry hadn't signed fan favorite Barber, he'd have been strung up.
