Why do Cowboy fans always have to emberass themselves.

MB3 maybe the best all around back in the league.

He does everything extremely well. Block, catch, and run.

The guy is the pulse for our offense.

He has a nose for the end zone. Good luck stopping Dallas in the red zone.

He does need his 1st half touches limited in order to get the full effect from this guy.

I have no problem with him starting. Especially with Rookies on our roster.

But having MB3 for the next 7 years is not a bad thing at all.

Give him the 1st 3 reps in the 1st quarter so he can keep his "starter" status, then sit him down for Felix or Choice till the late 3rd and 4rth quarter or short yardage situations...

Knowing how deep the RB position was for the draft, a team like New England would have franchised him for this year and then let him go.

Jerry falls in love with his players and overpays them. That is his biggest fault besides many. You don't lock in all your players. There needs to be a revolving door and let the players be on edge.

We didn't have to franchise Barber. We could have waited him out to sign his tender for about $2M and let him play out his 4th year and then let him hit FA. IF he proved he could handle the FT role and be a feature RB we could then have signed him to a similar contract to the one we gave him last year.

Many suggested doing exactly this - as usual, Jerry overreacted to pay a fan favourite before he had to. This is another instance where a GM would have helped. Jerry the owner loves the publicity and attention the Barbarian brought to the Cowboys and overestimated his worth as a football player accordingly.

I am sorry he is overrated plain and simple he is not the man at RB is he a good rb yes is he a good player yes but he is not a great rb he is not a 45million contract type player.

I did not like the signing in the offseason I stated it before he vere started the new year they overpayed for the guy.

Now that does not mean I hate Barber that is just going from one extreme to the other and gives people no middle ground which is flat out stupid. Saying we think the guy is overpayed does not mean we think the guy is a bad player. I like Barber and his attitude I just think Jerry crippled the team by over reacting and over paying Barber we would have been better off franchsing or transtioning him for one year like other teams have done in the past. Nope Jerry over reacts and spends way to much way to early

I love recliner-jockeys who know everything about every situation including what Jerry should have done with Barber.

Why don't you geniuses spend some time fixing that Middle East deal? :laugh2:

Yeah, Jimmy was just a bum Jerry picked off the street.

Did I say that?

I asked what he accomplished without Jerry.

Your silence tells me everything I need to know.

Geez Louise!!!!!

He had one bad year DUE TO INJURY

He's been a TD machine since his second year in the league... go back and look at the stats.

wake up Cowboysfan22... I'm not ready to give up on him by a long shot... we'll get the running game re-vamped next year...

By the way, he did try to play through an injury.
I am not giving up on him but this was not due to injury that he sucked wake up man the only reason he has so many touchdowns is because he gets it at the 10 yard line and runs 10 yards for a touchdown. Jullius jones could do that. I am not saying I'd rather have jones though.

I am going to give anybody the fact that Jones made bad hires with Switzer (then compounded the problem by sticking with him too long) Gailey and Campo. But how is Jones to blame for 4yrs of failing to win a playoff game with Bill Parcells as HC and in total control of the organization?

Why did you stop taking your medication? This is certifiably one of the more fantastically ridiculous claims I've ever read.

Dispute it then.

He's amazing in blitz pick up.

He catches the ball extremely well.

He runs extremely hard also.

This Franchise is dead set on having a 2 back system. Well we have one of the better backs in the league for that situation.

Short yardage, goal line, or you're in need of a 1st down? You can't ask for a better back than MB3.

The strangest thing is he gets more respect by people I know who hate the Cowboys than our own fan base. I've never understood it with that guy.

He is our Tazmanian Devil.

Im not saying he is the best back in the league but he is up there.

1. He isn't the attitude on the offense 2. He doesn't put fear into defenses when he fumbles alot and can't break tackles 3. On third and short he never picks up the first down 4. He always quits 5. He doesn't produce anywhere.

1. who is the attitude then?
2. this was an odd year for him in fumbles. he wont break every tackle this isn't madden or techcom bowl.
3. more often then not if we run on 3rd and short (3 yards or less) we get it.
4. how does he quit? he always runs with authority minus when he had his bad foot.
5. if he doesn't produce why is he the starter and why did he earn that new contract?

yes an injured foot would not hamper a running back at all  if Julius could run in from ten yards out and get those touch downs don't you think hed still be here?

The funny thing is these are the same people that said Jerry had better resign Barber. Now you're worried about his contract. If that's the case worry about all of the contracts. Bunch of Hypocrits !!!

I guess the down season has nothing to do with him being hurt down the stretch? You don't think that effected his average and overall numbers?

Please.

Your post SAID he might be the best all around back in the league. Now you are saying that you are not saying that.

Barber is far, FAR from the best back in the league. He is a very good complimentary back, he is not a good feature back. His primary responsibility, running the football, he was woeful this year, under 4 yard a carry is the NFL Mendoza line.

He is not the best back, all around or area specific.

I would uses Marion Barber to punish teams early. He would soften them up for Felix, and Felix would finish them off with 70 yard TDs and long runs.

I would use Felix Jones like Marshall Faulk.

I want Marion Barber and Felix Jones to be the focus of the offense, the heart and soul.

Al Micheals said it best: (He's said it twice.)

"Marion Barber is a stud".

He can't help if someone stepped on his toe and dislocated it. If he could have played, he would have. He tried to play in every game, except Pittsburgh. The team should have listened to him considering their track record with injured players.

Welcome to the Asylum.

Guys get over yourselves. People can't discuss the new dynamic we now have with our three headed system? Knowing what we know now, people can't speculate on the possibility of a trade to even things out at the RB position? Cmon now... geez..

There are so many questions right now it's ridiculous. Are we going to use out three backs efficiently? Will Jerry seek a trade? Will he seek to trade away the young developing talent in Choice or look to get a goldmine in return for MB3? MB3 is getting paid "feature back" dollars. Will he be a featured back or will he share carries with the others and average 10/10/10 per running back? Will Garrett lose the Tecmo Bowl playbook and get back to a good 50/50 run/pass mix? Will Garrett even be here next year and if he's not how will that affect the RB position? These are all questions worth discussion. No?
