Heard him on a podcast and he says why pay A+ prices for B- players in free agency… ok to develop your own players….he is always neutral on his commentaries so he has credibility
The problem is there were guys that could have helped that didn't get A+ prices. So that's a false premise right there from Schlereth.

Two, does he also at least admit that Jerry has led the Cowboys on an unprecedented run of playoff futility and that is in large part due to his decision making as GM, which includes not only skipping the A level FAs, but also most of the B level guys, then swooping in and grabbing C level guys that more often than not aren't all that great and don't actually fix holes?

Even if you only sign your own free agents, you are still paying the high prices. Rarely do you get a bargain on a player. The art of being a GM should be about signing the right guys for your team out of free agency.

Makes you realize how great Belichick and Kraft were at building great teams for so many years. Add to that how Brady was always willing to take less $$ to keep players and bring new players in. You can't underestimate what they did with relatively unknown players at the start of their dynasty. Unlike Dallas, players wanted to be part of that. I don't get that impression here.

So does the rest of the NFC East.

DQ is going to look like the best HC and Cowboys will be blaming GM Jethrow for not parting ways with McCarthy sooner.

Agreed. Only problem I have is why did Jerry listen to Dan Quinn and get rid of both John Ridgeway and Quinton Bohanna, 2 big DTs we should have kept and groomed who would have been starting in the middle of our Dline today and not left our interior Dline so vulnerable? Dan Quinn 100% destroyed our Defense and put us in the position we currently are desperately in. He even took our backup DEs with him.

As soon as the dudes they draft after the first round consistently turn into B- players then Ill agree.

In totality he’s right but to never ever partake when a few of those b- players may be the missing pieces is wrong also. Letting guys go is fine as long as you replace them, they let guys go with no assurance of replacements.

Letting the biadasz’s and Armstrong is fine

You don't have to spend a ton of money in FA. But you can get better players to fill holes even if it costs more. By not doing that they handicap themselves.

Ever play a sports game against a weak AI and you have to make house rules? That could be a legit house rule to keep it competitive. Doing that in the NFL is the furthest thing from smart.

Stink is probably just recognizing that Jerry is finally doing something different.

Overpaying average players and bringing on free agents PAST their prime as STARTERS hasn't worked

Actually he has hated on us quite a bit. I'd call that a legit stamp of approval. Truth be told many of these contracts have been fair.
