I don’t think he cares about a ring. It he did he would’ve left.
Exactly...........players are not stupid, they know what the deal is.

You play in Dallas to get paid, not win rings..............if you want a ring, you go play for another team, we have multiple examples of that happening.

Its a decision every star player has to make, do I stay in Dallas and take the bag (see Dak) or do I take less money and go win a ring with a true contender (see players like Demarcus Ware).

Every players does not get to play for a team that wins a Super Bowl. He chose to stay with the Dallas Cowboys. He knew their track record in recent decades and how the franchise conducts business.
Exactly........this team does not operate in a way that is conducive to winning in the playoffs, we have 30 yrs of evidence that proves it.

You play in Dallas for one single reason........MONEY

And yet the players get ripped by the fans for "being greedy" and demanding top of the market pay........... fans know the players will never win a ring, but want them to take less $$$ also???

Weird behavior by a lot of Cowboys fans. If players know they will never win a ring in Dallas, why should they accept anything but market setting contracts???

I’m not sure why fans think his career has been wasted.

He’s had an amazing career which will be rewarded with a HOF induction.
Yeah, kinda weird fans think he wasted his career.

Dude is a first ballot HOFer and has made more money than 99% of the people on the planet make in their entire lifetimes. We are talking generational wealth, his great, great, great, grandkids will still be living off his earnings.

Or, he could surprise everyone and sign a much cheaper 2 year extension where he agrees to be a part-time player and part-time Oline coach to help
A "part-time Oline coach to help" isn't a thing...Not in the history of football and not next year. Not formally or informally. Cap money and roster spots just mean too much, and I don't think Martin wants to come back and ride the bench.

But.......Do appreciate the spirit of honor you speak of Martin. :)

Yep. I don’t do the whole “oh Dallas wasted so and so’s career”. Nope because you re-signed. I don’t feel bad for any of them.

He’s been trying to play hurt the last 2 seasons. Fans probably not giving him enough credit for that. Knows he had the big extension and trying to play to it, but body and age gets to us all.

Nice post by Sturm - also how many RBs would have easily scored there?

He'll be back, but he won't be protecting Duck. Who wants to go out on the bottom of this trash heap?
