Cannot wave the fines anymore been said 1000 times read the post
You can easily make up the fines. It’s simple. They are likely to extend him in his last year anyway but they aren’t gonna do it with 2 years left. Just add in the extension

The Cowboys would probably have given him a new 3-4 year deal after this season. Why choose to do this now?

If he sits out the season, and the Cowboys don't fall apart in his absence, he's probably not getting a new deal.
After this season?

What would a career ending injury do to that deal?

It’s my understanding the fines cannot be excused. Am I misinformed?
You can’t forgive them but you can add them in next deal. He’s likely gonna get extended next year. Then he will be in a contract year

Wondering if Martin also taking advantage of no camp. He doesn’t need it and I’m sure he would admit it like most All-Pro veterans after 30.

He knows this is his last big deal. Don’t hate the business man.
Where was the love and compassion For Zeke ?? Not from you necessarily but I'm asking where was the understanding for Dak ? Why does Zack get Pay the man and Dak get's the crook label

Zeke's a prima Donna, an overpaid one at that. BTW I agree pay the man !!!!!! And definitely don't hate on him for getting HIS

I don't feel bad for these players.....pissing-away $500K? 60% of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.

I think Jerry is happy. He doesn't take the field, his job is to make money.
yeah he is happy but he wants that SB win so not happy on that front, it is the one thing that has eluded him for 28 years.
We dont really know what jerrys "job" is lol.
He likes to make $ and is quite obsessed with it to the point of it being a disease. ( he is good at it though)
On the $ once you become a billionaire and even before that, making more $ just gets easier.
and it isnt all jerry, he can hire brilliant people to help him do all that, then he just sits back and takes all the credit, much like
he has with mcClay on the GM side.

the irony is that it is the Americans that are living paycheck-to-paycheck who support these teams , and that allows the athletes , coaches and owners
to make the insane amount of $ that they make !
So who is really to blame ?????

It's bizarre to think an OG could be that disruptive to a talented team, but unfortunately, that's the case here. Martin not playing in 2023 (or for a large chunk of the season) has a massive trickle down effect.

Hope Jerry realizes it and somehow they can bridge the gap here and get him into camp by season's start.

Well yeah, but players now are the same way. Their focus is money, and it doesn't matter how much money they already have. They could be bathing in gold coins, but they want more gold coins. Even though it changes their lives in no way. It can be a sickness.

Zack is an All-Pro elite level player in his position and he will be a future Hall of Famer. Prescott is none of the above hence why most savvy people do not want him to be paid elite money.

:banghead: :banghead: this may not end well. Have to admit, Jerry's attitude about is surprising, to me at least. He normally keeps his future HOFers happy.........

I highly doubt he will have to pay anything when he does end his holdout.

If I'm not mistaken, Martin has hinted at retirement before. This might be a precursor.
Doubt it.

He’s due 13.x million in base next season.

I look for this to be resolved soon.

They must of changed that recently as in the past players who held out, usually got their fines waived when they signed their extension.

Well someone else here told me about it, and so you can do some research on it. It may be covered at the nfl rules site.

Piggy wants his early retirement package. Trade him away and let someone else choke on his greed.

Martin has just two choices if Jerry holds firm. Play under the contract and pay his fines or retire and pay back all that upfront money. I wonder how much money
he wants to flush down the toilet.
