Marty B hates Witten?

My quote on Bennett from before the 2010 season ..
If Bennett was any good, it might be easier to put up with his antics or at the very least overlook them. However, he's the third best tight-end on the Cowboys and if he had any amount of common sense, he'd be laying low focusing heavily on getting better. Instead, he's following the stereotype for talented yet lazy and unfocused college players who think the hall of fame has a spot reserved for them before they ever do anything to deserve it.

Personally, I think he's an idiot and it has nothing to do with the content of his videos or whether they are funny or not. He's a professional athlete on a team where the third tight-end last year was better than him and outside of blocking, he played very poorly last year. If he had any common sense, he would have stayed out of the spotlight this year and let his improved play and performance this season be the reason he gets noticed.

Instead, we get yet another off-season that seems like a rerun of last off-season. "Marty B." is not a good football player. Martellus Bennett has a chance to be a good football player. Let's just hope Bennett doesn't end up on the Mentally Unable to Perform (MUP) list this season like he did last season.

*laughs* ... Mentally Unable to Perform (MUP) list .. that was good .. what happened to that Reality? :D

I totally could see this. Witten is a personality that's probably not LOVED by a lot of players in close proximity. He's not going to let you get away with **** and he's the definition of accountability and integrity. Certain people hate those traits because it uncovers THEIR personality and laziness. Marty B is one of those that gets by on talent alone. Witten as a PERSON and professional, you love.

I hope he drops every pass that Brady throws to him....then Brady says...I hate that guy...
Bellicheck grunts and says...man, even if we cheat it won't help him....

I'm just sad that I had the good fortune of being at the first game in the new stadium with field passes and the only 2 people that I was able to have sign my program were Goodell and Marty B.

Anyone else surprised ESPN didn't ask about Tony?

I wonder if they really didn't ask or if the answer just wasn't controversial enough.

These 2 guys are rude a-holes that think people are being fake by not shooting off rude opinions for all to hear. I can't stand this mentality where being considerate of other people is somehow a weakness. To say that about Jay Cutler, Witten, and even his off colored racist Eli Manning comments just show why Martellus has no friends and leaves most people who knew him with a bad impression.

These guys were born with physical talent but missed out on the ingredients that would make them great. Class, Humility, Respect...

Rich guy, Young guy, microphone, platform and he says controversial things and it surprises people why again????
I'm sure Witten cares..................................... NOPE!

Honestly I have no problem with what they said. He's right a lot of teams do try to make you be a robot with no personality, nothing but vanilla pre rehearsed answers and don't like guys to be real. I don't like that. And I'm glad I didn't have coaches like that when I played when i was younger, we were successful and won titles without smothering people's personalities. Toe the company line or get shunned. Even in the military its not that bad.

What's sad is that from a pure talent standpoint, Bennett is far superior to Witten, he just can't get the brain part figured out.

More talented?
Maybe more athletic, but Witten is supremely talented in the arts of playing TE.
Even then, in their physical prime Witten had the faster 40 time, believe it not.
Witten is slow now though, yes.

Written was on his *** daily, as was John Garrett. He also ALWAYS used Witt as the better example. I guess after a couple years of that, I would hate the guy too.

No tight end brought in after Witten has found any sustained success as a pass-catcher. His lack of production in Dallas shouldn't be held against him as if he's a unique case.

Two things can be equally true: 1) he may be lazy/underachiever (although I don't know many great blockers that are "lazy") and 2) the Cowboys coaching staffs have a demonstrated history of being completely inept in terms of incorporating a second TE into the offenses.

the younger bennett brother ran around twitter for years attacking Romo.

Who cares about that loser. He is a nobody.

But Martellus insists he's thrilled to be in New England, where he'll play the Seahawks in November. "I've been in the league for nine years now, and I've only been on two teams where the guys were a team: the New York Giants and now with the Patriots."

And by saying "where the guys were a team", Marty means "where the guys put up with my BS... so far".

Im sure the feeling is mutual. Witten never likes to see a waste of talent.
