Dumb lazy guy hating a smart hard working guy who he cannot supplant even though he is physically superior ..... so he assumes it was because of politics and the smart hard working guy was just keeping him down.

Happens every day in every company in the world.

Who cares what that POS thinks.

Nailed it.

You're confusing talent with athleticism. Route running, reading defenses factor into talent and Witten is probably top 5 all time in both.
Not confusing, just misspoke, though one could argue that they are one in the same in a lot of regards.

Marty B is a lazy so-and-so and Witten is a perfectionist. Not hard to see why Marty B hates him (resents demanding people.)

Sadly, we live in a world were a journalist and a print organization actually thought it was good idea to entice these morons to be provocative in an unfiltered platform.

I thought this was well known. Very few people like Witten. For obvious reasons.

Martellus: "I'm very coachable".......lmao.....get the bleep out of here with that bleep!

I remember that Hard Knocks episode where the TE coach is trying to teach him something and he's looking around pretending the coach isnt there.

He's always been the kind that constantly whines about being disrespected but goes out of his way to disrespect the next person. Great talent, jerk od a human being.

I don't think he is dumb or he is lazy. I think he has an alpha male personality and doesn't work well with people above him; people like that have to be managed carefully. If he was dumb and lazy I doubt he would make the pro bowl and have the level of success he's had since leaving. It was poor scouting by the Cowboys.

Thing is that Witten is the same way. He doesn't let anyone play in front of him. It shouldn't be hard to figure out why people like that would rub each other the wrong way.

I think you're on to something. I love Witten but I've more than one Cowboys media say that he cares more about his numbers than he let's on.

I didn't interpret his comments as if he "literally" hates Witten. I believe he's speaking from a competitive standpoint and from a jealousy standpoint. Obviously, Witten was the guy they wanted MB to be like, but he didn't want to be like him. He wanted to be MB. And being constantly reminded that Witten is who he should aspire to be and not getting as much playing time because Witten was on the team developed within MB a "hatred" for Witten.

I, personally, think this is a big ado about nothing.

No tight end brought in after Witten has found any sustained success as a pass-catcher. His lack of production in Dallas shouldn't be held against him as if he's a unique case.

Two things can be equally true: 1) he may be lazy/underachiever (although I don't know many great blockers that are "lazy") and 2) the Cowboys coaching staffs have a demonstrated history of being completely inept in terms of incorporating a second TE into the offenses.
Exactly, it's not like Marty B has been the exception here. We used Fasano and now Escobar just as much. Witten doesn't give up snaps (waves off replacement), and we can't use #2 TEs to any advantage while having wasted three 2nd rounders on them? This is an organizational problem, not a personnel problem. Marty B could have still contributed with Witten here...unheard of!.

I don't think that's what he meant. Witten is an all-Pro and a future HOF.

Those guys are hard to supplant until their waning years because they're that good. It's just a fact.

You must be too young to remember Hard knocks ....... or all the stupid things he has said at all the other teams he has been on.

I remember it. He knocked off; it's called a coping mechanism. The coach you are talking about was fired right after remember?
