seriously? more judgemental BS.

in the Karate Kid they were trying to hurt him, injure him. Oh, and it was an amateur tournament. So no, that wasn't cool.

what does scoring points in a football game have to do with being physically assaulted in a martial arts tournament? you dont go to the hospital if you get beat 60-0 on the scoreboard. you do go to the hospital if you get beatdown in a karate tournament. Please stop using apples and oranges to debate.

Get off your high horse slowly, before you fall off and break your neck.

I thought NFL was a "men sport" and thats what made it different from the other football (soccer), im starting to really doubt it.
And no, i dislike Karate Kid, and i think you and trickblue watch too much History Channel.

Call it what you like Cowboys will be watching the Vikings next week, because they whipped our *** (however you define that).

Wait a second. Please defend your utterly defenseless, stupid claim that showing mercy is disrespectful to your opponent. I didn't bring it up. You did.

You don't want the Vikings to score again and embarass you? Then ****** STOP them. You remember when the Pat's went 16-0 and were destroying teams 52-7? They all cried too. You don't like it ???? Then FRIGGEN MAN UP AND STOP THEM! You should'a punched Favre in the mouth when you had the chance too.

Hey, dont forget to compare this play with throwing an A-bomb to Japan, thats a very wise thing to do, they should teach you that at organized sports.

It's called hyperbole. And what you're doing is called strawman. Look it up.

Nevermind, you didnt get my point. I know you didnt say it because you are trying to defend the "keep running the score" choice. Was just pointing how wise they were to compare dropping an A-Bomb to a football play, to compare it to Karate Kid or comparing it to "taking things from strangers because i can".

defenseless? stupid? really?

you are trying to compare a professional football game to an amateur event. they are two different entities.

professional football, while a game and a sport, is also a job. It is a paid occupation. players are played to score points, stop the opponent from scoring points, and win games. I am not a fan of cheapshots or intentionally injuring opponents. To me, that is classless, unprofessional, disrespectful, unsportsmanlike, and criminal. However, scoring at will is not. you are on the clock for 60 minutes of regulation football. you are getting paid to score as much as you can, so do it. do your job and earn your paycheck.

Definetly, i will do as you wish. But please, dont you ever say again that NFL is for men.
The one comparing a professional game to karate kid (utterly defenseless, stupid claim) is you.

i didnt say it cause i dont know why you are even asking me. trickblue came up with that comparison, not me.

i did, however, discuss the karate kid issue.

Yeah Mom...the Vikings were mean to me!

Martin what is your deal? you seem to be trying to antagonize posters on both sides of this argument?

what is your stance on the subject, if you dont mind me asking?

Biggems;3238085 said:
no you are wrong. true sportsmanship is giving it your all for the entire length of the contest....that is a true sign of respect to the game and the opponent. to show mercy, to call off the dogs prior to the end of the contest, is like spitting in the face or slapping the face of the opponent.

I would rather get beatdown 60-0 and know the opponent never let up, than to get beat 40-0 and know they showed us mercy.[/quote]

Here, I've made it simple for you. Defend this statement. This is what I call utterly defenseless and stupid. Forget the Karate Kid. I mentioned that because of you and Martin's fondness of "showing no mercy", not to directly compare this game to the events in Karate Kid.

So, go ahead. I'm waiting.

Okay, you simpleton. If I could post in Spanish, I would, because you obviously have reading comprehension difficulty in English. The Karate Kid reference was in response to your lame "show no mercy" bit. It wasn't a direct comparison.

Stop crying about them running up the scores. These are NOT children this is professional football. If they didn't want the score ran up the pansies should have stopped them.

Huh ? Im just stating my opinion, which happens to be similar ( not equal ) to yours. In your post you were commenting an hilarious comparison that someone made and me ironically posted another hilarious comparison that someone made to add to your post. How is that antagonize posters ?

Ramzid, it was a dumb reference because thats why they have referees, its not ilegal to hit the opponent in karate or boxing or whatever. To injure someone on purpose is lack of sportsmanship, or celebrating a player's injury. But to keep scoring ( would be to keep kicking the opposite at karate ) is not lack of sportsmanship as long as its under the rules and allowed by the referee. And sorry if you cant communicate in spanish, its not bad to learn languages.
