I dont take things from people because they lack the ability to stop me. I believe there is a place in professional sports for mercy. I dont see the need or value in embarrassing anyone. You do.
We shall agree to disagree on this.
We got our butts handed to us. We all agree. But the vikings showed they lack sportsmanship with that play.
now you are bringing real life into professional sports. i would never take something from someone, just cause i could. i would never kill just cause i could.
but if i am playing u in monopoly, i will do everything i can to take all the properties and leave you completely broke. if we are playing dominoes, i will do my best to beat you 250-0. if we are playing risk, i will do my best to take over the world and obliterate your armies...........and i am not even getting paid to do it.
now remember, I am talking about professional sports...cause this is their job. they are getting paid, and paid handsomely. do you think Pepsi takes it easy when competing with CocaCola? NO. Do you think AT&T and Verizon take it easy when competing with one another? NO. They do all they can to put the other out of business and sell their products to the masses....that is the way it is.
So if you are getting paid to score points and win games....you do it as well as you can.
If we are discussing amateur sports....then I am not a fan of running up the score. Amateur sports are usually extracurricular activities that are done for fun and for something constructive to do. They are not your job or your first priority, unless you are training for the Olympics of course.
But even in HS or college football, I have no issue with a team scoring as much as they can, as long as they use their 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th string guys late in the game. I see no problem with some 4th or 5th string RB scoring a late TD, since he almost never sees the field, but works just as hard in practice. For him, that one TD is everything, for the opponent, it is just 6 more points of deficite in a beatdown.
