Interesting philosophy you have been taught...

We've should have dropped more A-Bombs on Japan... ;)

As a point of interest,I don't think we had any more A-bombs to drop after the first two.

As another point of interest,Lord Fav-ruh said something like this was payback for the five or six field goals the 'Boys hung on the Pack some turkey days ago, when they were already way ahead. what a tool.

even if it is disrespectful, classless, and unsportsmanlike, why do you care? you were not on the field. you were not the one getting score on and beat down. you are in the same boat as the rest of us. you are in the stands, in a bar, in some house or apt. even if what the vikings did was bad, it should have no effect on you. you should not be so upset or butthurt.

as you can see, i see nothing wrong with what they did, nor am i upset about it.

turkey day? it was a MNF game and it was 7 FGs. we did kick a garbage FG just to set a record. since this forum was not around at the time, there was no one here to attack the Boys for their unsportsmanlike display.

As for Favre......Dallas won 3 rings, his clown butt has 1.

Classic case of "moving the goalpoasts" from someone who can't defend his own argument. See, utterly defenseless, just like I said.

BTW, if you really want me to go into it, I'll tell you why I care. Because it really is a reflection on our society this whole, "take no prisoners, show no mercy" type of attitude. It's a shift in cultural attitude that I don't really like. And, no, I'm not one of those old-fashioned guys either. I'm 29.

Huh ? Im just stating my opinion, which happens to be similar ( not equal ) to yours. In your post you were commenting an hilarious comparison that someone made and me ironically posted another hilarious comparison that someone made to add to your post. How is that antagonize posters ?

Ramzid, it was a dumb reference because thats why they have referees, its not ilegal to hit the opponent in karate or boxing or whatever. To injure someone on purpose is lack of sportsmanship, or celebrating a player's injury. But to keep scoring ( would be to keep kicking the opposite at karate ) is not lack of sportsmanship unless its under the rules and allowed by the referee. And sorry if you cant communicate in spanish, its not bad to learn languages.

ok that clears things up, you seem to share the same stance as i do. i was getting a little confused trying to debate on here and watch criminal minds, but now it is all good.

Nevermind. You obviously did not understand post #238.

Well i am sorry that you feel the Vikings scoring that extra touchdown has brought us so much closer to Armageddon. I guess I better start storing my garage with canned goods and bottled water.

I would really be interested in hearing your argument on why showing mercy to your opponent is disrespectful. Seriously. I'm all ears.

As you wish.

About "showing mercy being disrespecftul" is the way sports are viewed here, it's not something that i just invented. Commentators and journalists bash teams that slow down because we all find it disrespectful, we see it like if you were saying "ok, you are horrible and im too good for you so i better slow down so people dont see it". I prefer to lose 40-0 with the other team playing 100% than losing 30-0 with the team slowing down almost a whole quarter, people would never now how good or bad the team played and what would have been the real difference. Its not bad to play bad, every player has bad games so they shouldnt be embarrassed or ashamed of it.

go look back at all of my posts in this thread. i am not going to continually repeat myself. you do not get it. you have a different viewpoint. thats cool. i have no true issues with it. you believe how you want to. i believe how i want to. it seems that i am not alone in my stance, nor are you.

i will say this. the divide on this stance is quite similar to the divide on abortion. there is no middle ground. either you are for running up the score or you are against it.

BTW, let me make this clear one more time. I am talking about professional sports, not amateur sports.

NM. Just saw your response.

BTW, I have read your posts and there is no attempt to explain why showing mercy is disrespectful, just you repeating over and over that you don't think running up the score is a big deal.

Again, stop comparing this to amateur sports. I didn't make the analogy with amateur sports.

Bennett has his biggest game of the year(2 catches) and is now popping off at the mouth about a legend...

Trick is right, it's all relative and it's obviously subjective.

My opinion? Spitting on an opponent, taking a cheap shot after the whistle, or say, running to the star and pointing to the sky - that's poor sportsmanship. Scoring as many points as you can while the game clock is still running, especially while the other team has not surrendered? Part of the game.

And as others have said, losing 34-3 or 17-3, doesn't much matter to me. All that really matters is that we lost. Why does adding an extra 6 points matter?

They HAD the ball there because WE turned it over on downs deep in our own territory. If they showed poor sportsmanship, what is going for it on 4th down on your own 20 yard line, down by 24 with 2 minutes left?

Sheesh!

Im sorry I even posted this.

really, the minute we lose the same people (who have been missing lately) show up and start with their nonsense.

Hey, dont forget to compare this play with throwing an A-bomb to Japan, thats a very wise thing to do, they should teach you that at organized sports.

I'm plenty wise, junior... try me out...

I've forgotten more Cowboy players than you have ever heard of...

It was hyperbole...

Actually we had one more IIRC correctly...

Exactly.

I didnt really have a problem with what the Vi-queens did.... bottom line is you need to stop them on fourth down? would people be this pissed off if they had of just kicked a FG?
