Last night a 40 year old Matt Hasselback led the colts to a victory. The second in four days. Matt spent one day in the hospital for a bacteria infection and was bed ridden for two days on a short week ( thurs night game). There are some who ask " what do you expect from a back up QB?" when discussing Weedens play. Well, i expect this type of performance.

Yep this didn't take long for someone to take the bait and post this nonsense. Hasselbeck and the Colts are facing two of the worst teams in football and two teams with absolutely no offense and no good QB play. There's a big difference between facing the Falcons and then facing Drew Brees as opposed to Brian Hoyer and Blake Bortles. Not mention the fact that the Colts got extremely lucky to beat Jacksonville needing J'ville's FG kicker to miss 2 FG's , one at the end of regulation and one in OT, otherwise the Colts don't win that game.

Drew Brees plays defense?

And while we are at it does Hasselbeck? Because if so, he did a marvelous job of holding the Jaguars to 13 points and the Texans to 20.

As a bonus, he did a great job of making the Jaguars kicker miss the game winning field goal in regulation. Without such a commendable effort, we might have been deprived of this glorious thread.

So he put up 16 points and 27 points and they beat Jags and Houston. Weeden lead his team to 28 points and 20 points vs 4-0 Alt and NO and we lost. Not Hassleback I need as much as the defense. lol

You know what is funny about that game? All of the talk show pundits picked Houston to win that game, then they showed a poll of the fans and 69% of the fans predicted the Colts would win. I thought it was funny and showed last night the fans knew more than the pundits.

I promise, if the Cowboys had played any combination of Blake Bortles, Brian Hoyer, or Ryan Mallett over the previous two games, they would be 2–0 as well.

Not disputing the claim that Matt is better than Brandon, but I do not share the backup envy considering we barely beat the Giants and Eagles with Romo at the helm. The problems with the team are more systematic -- inconsistent OL, injuries, and poor defense. We should have been able to beat the Saints with the game Weeden had.

We played an 0-3 saints team w drew brees w a bad throwing shoulder. He went to dr andrews and was confirmed to have structural damage to the rotator cuff. That team is just as bad as Houston.

Not to start this all up again, but we're really not losing games because of Brandon Weeden. Hist 91 yard drive in NOLA was pretty impressive in its own right.

you ever watch the muppets and the two old guys up in the balcony, waldorf and statler, their routine "hey that wasnt half bad" "yea, wasnt that good either" Thats Weeden.. For everything you can use to defend him, other people can say "yes, but heres this".

this is more of the puzzle. Yes we all know many back up qbs better then Weeden, but is Weeden to be singled out? Yes, just not for this headache. Weeden should have never been signed, but hes here, so we can either make him a scape goat and be mostly right, or we can see what the real problem is, fix that, than fix the Weeden problem. Simple as that.

Let's be honest here. Weeden have no business being on this team. At our state we need a proven veteran back up that know his role. Not a flunky that we hope can put stuff together once he play with our weapons. That is why I wanted Vince Young , Michael Vick or Schaub. Guys who proved they can win at this level. Not a Matt Cassell or Matt Flyn who couldn't do jack but bounce around to teams every off season.

Well then he is only going through what Romo does. There are many who consistently find fault in Tony Romo. For every good thing some will say there are others who will find the negative.

If Drew Brees had only one arm, he would be better than anyone of those guys.

Rightly so. I have backed Romo up since before many did. Does that mean Romo is not without critique, only in my mind but not in reality. Does that mean its right or wrong, clearly not. People are going to hate Romo because he wears teh number 9.

The BIG difference is, Romo is a QB who should be signed, Weeden should only be signed if you have no one left, in the league.

He played the Texans and Jaguars. A bit different from playing an undefeated Falcons team and Drew Brees.

Drew Brees? lol... You mean the shell of Drew Brees who couldn't throw past 20 yards Drew Brees.

Weeden is playing better than a lot of QB I have seen this year. Fact is Weeden is taking some crap he does not deserve thankfully the coaches do know that it is the defense who can't stop anyone right now. TOP Dallas is 4th in the NFL we put up points but defense can't stop anyone. Hopefully that starts to change if it does then we can win game with Weeden.

I agree he like any player should be critiqued, his int vs Atlanta was a stupid pass on his part. Him and this offense need to do better in 3rd down situation as well but to hear some talk Weeden has done nothing and that is not true. Maybe the difference all boils down to expectation. As with most backup QB this team has had I don't put the same expectation on them as I do the starting QB. I expect that backup to manage the game not try to play hero.
