I would have guessed that he was a marijuana user. The cocaine is surprising.

What's interesting is that if he were busted for pot, I don't know that people would care as much. Cocaine is on another level as far as drug entertainment.

Back when Irvin got busted for coke my first thought was that his career was over just because it is on another level like you said. I understand how it is viewed even though personally I could care less if someone wants to screw up their life with hard core drugs. Just as long as they aren't screwing up other people's lives with their drug use.

I'm not sure.

And I'm not sure that it even matters.

Even if he's not suspended, I'm not sure that any team would be interested in signing him once the Jags inevitably cut him (which will probably be today).

You notice that there's a common theme with these underachieving guys getting in trouble, be it Cedric Benson or Matt Jones ... they're always back in their old college town. It's somewhat indicative of someone who hasn't moved on from his college lifestyle and realized that he's a grown man and a professional now. They enjoy the professional athlete money but not the professional athlete commitment.
