Matt Jones still on the radar for Cowboys?

Jones agent contacted the Cowboys, not the other way around. There was no interest.

Thank goodness.

Let's just start Cory Proctor while we are at it.

Kenny Britt looks good. Nate Washington hurt his hamstring. I guess that is why they want him.

Ogletree can play. Play him.

That is not a good comparison. Irvin was a proven player and winner before he ever got in trouble for his coke issues. Irvin is a Hall of Famer and was the heart of the team. If Matt Jones was close to being in that category he would not be available in the first place.

I know all of that, I'm a fan of Michael's but my point was just that coke is nothing new in Dallas. Look he screwed the pooch no doubt but I believe he's sincerely trying to unscrew the pooch now as best he can. JJ should sign him and by all means if he doesn't meet expectations let him go.

Not going to happen. The pooch has already been screwed...and pregnant at that!

I would be for cutting stanback and trading Austin and then picking up Matt jones. Ogletree has too much upswing to me. With all he has shown in such a short time I think by the end of this year he will surpass Austin and maybe Hurd. Jones would provide the speed threat with mire experience than Austin. Just my thoughts on it.

This post is disorienting. I'm swinging back and forth trying to decide which part of it I disagree with most. I think it's the trading Austin idea. Or maybe it's the picking up Matt Jones part. And the implied changing WRs a week before the season starts I have a problem with, too. Ogletree surpassing Austin and Hurd this season? Or maybe it's the trading Austin idea.

Wasn't Michael Irvin a 'coke machine' and quite a few other Cowboy greats back in the day?
Matt's better than atleast half the Dallas current receivers and after spending $20,000 to stay in shape to be ready I seriously doubt he's a 'coke machine' as you claim.
God forbid anyone find out about most anyone's past mistakes, we would all be out of work. I see a guy who is genuinely doing everything he can for one more shot and when given the chance will show people like you were wrong.

You should be shot for even comparing Michael Irvin to Matt Jones.

Easy cowboy, I gots guns-n-ammo too you know.:)

I'd take Matt Jones over Hurd, Ogletorpe, and Stanback any day of the week.

We should have already picked this guy up, he would be #1 reciever, at least a compliment to Williams. What a nice target he would be for tony.
I agree with you 100%.But dont tell that to some of these naysayers who say we dont need anyone that's not perfect in life. Jones was on pace to a 80 catch 1000 yard season last year before he was suspended.i have been screaming for us to pick this guy up for month's. now i think it's to late.Jerry the GM blew it again. he has not improved this team this offseason.

So if we pick up Matt Jones, we might not go 7-9? Fail!

Crayton also.

And Austin too. And I'm one of the biggest Austin supporters. Picutre this guy and Roy Williams as our flankers for the next 8 years (big leap I know but possible). He's a year younger than Roy.

For the guys who want #1 WR Matt Jones, Jerry got rid of future HOFer who is worlds better than Matt Jones, so Roy Williams, Austin & company can develop.

There is no room for Matt Jones on Jerry's new "do it right" squad.
