Mavs/Heat Finals thread

going of on a tangent, like i normally do, starting tuesday was a great call!

if they keep the tuesday, thursday, sunday schedule, and the 2-3-2 format, starting the finals on tuesday is perfect because it gives the teams an extra day off between travel days.

I think the team with homecourt advantage gets screwed in the finals.

3 games in a row is tough. If you steal 1 in the 1st 2 games all you gotta do is win 2 out of 3 at home and you got 2 games to end it.

Im so glad we didn't have the advantage.

i disagree, because of two reasons

1)its hard to beat ANYONE 3 games in a row, specially in the finals when its usually 2 of the best 4 teams in the league, and thats evident considering its only been done like two times and not until the 2004 pistons did it.

2)like i said, its very even teams and so the series are gonna go 6 or 7 games and its a huge advantage for the home team to have those close out games at home

History has shown the road teams are the one with the disadvantage.

Can you imagine if the Celts were able to go home in game 6 last year leading 3-2? Instead they had to win another road game.

I hate this format. With technology and private jets, I'm not sure why the league still uses this format.

Haven't read all the posts from tonight's game, but I thought basically the Mavs did to the Heat what the Heat did to them the other night.

So they each stole a game from each other. They both played better than the other night, but there were some sloppily played possessions down the stretch.

I don't think the refs were a factor. There was some inconsistent calls, but none I thought were difference makers.

and the Mavs Lucked out big time

Under no format would Boston have had 4 games at home last year...if game 6 was in Boston. Then game 5 would have been in LA. Can't have it both ways

i wont be surprised if the mavs win this series, at the beggining of sportscenter instead of showing the mavs celebrating (like all other major sports champions) they will have the heat walking off the court.

and yes, if the mavs win, 90% of the coverage will be about the heat (is there any more reason you need to hate this team?)

I already hated them, due to the obvious ref bias especially for Wade, but the totally over the top media love if almost unbearable.

Congrats Mavs fans, a great comeback win on the road. As a lifelong Lakers fan I hate having to root for the rival Mavs but I really hate the Heat so, Go Mavs!

Mavs really have no chance. Miami D is strong, Miami O is off the charts. Mavs did very well, much better than ever expected, to get this far, but it's just not fair right now. No team in history would have a chance to win a series against this Heat team. (except maybe Showtime Lakers...)
WOW. That's a keeper.:laugh2:

Yeah, it totally didnt have anything to do with Dallas playing great defense and Dirk going into legend mode...again

2 games in this series played and I still have more questions than answers.lol

I still don't have any earthly idea who will win the series, but as a Mavs fan this win was SWEET!:)

That might be a valid argument if this wasn't like the 4th 4th QTR comeback in these playoffs alone, the 2nd 15 point 4th QTR comeback.

They did it to the 2 time defending champs, they did it to the Thunder and now they've done it to the Heat. They sure are a lucky bunch of chokers :laugh2:

:D . Well hot dang. I had to watch ESPN after the game to make sure that was actually real and then pinch myself to make sure I was somewhat coherent. Where to start? First half played out like most of Game 1. Turnovers, Fouls, Ugly Basketball. Second half started with both teams trading baskets and then as soon as I know it, the Heat are up by 15. Thanks to Marion they would have been up by more. Then, either something just clicked or the team got fired up by Wade's posing after his 3-pt in the corner. The rest is history. Game 3 in Dallas. Best of 5. Homecourt-Dallas. I will celebrate this victory tonight, but I still think Miami let us win the game more than we took it from them. It will be interesting to see how this affects the psyche of both teams entering Game 3. Now, where did I leave that beer of mine....

Go Mavs!

Someone choked in those games and it definitely wasn't the Mavericks. Maybe he means the Mavs are chokers in the fact that they choke the life out of teams in the 4th quarter? :laugh2:

If you had told me we would have 20 turnovers (many completely unforced) that resulted in 31 easy points...and then still somehow win...I would never believe you.

We did outrebound them this time and the bench did outscore theirs, but WOW.

They were taunting our bench pretty badly after that Wade 3 put them so far up.
Justice served, baby.

Good news is that maybe Terry has busted out of his slump. We'll see.
Bad news is that Haywood is hurt.
