The game played out almost exactly as the others did, the difference was that Dallas played incredible defense down the stretch and Dirk hit the big bucket in the final seconds. Dallas absolutely shut down Lebron and Wade only got a couple good looks in the fourth, they finally made the role players take jumpers and they missed.

Anyone who thinks Lebron is better than Dirk is smoking crack.

Lebron is a better player, no doubt. Dirk is a better finisher, though. He has learned how to close, and Lebron seems content to defer to Wade.

Lebron also takes some AWFUL shots late in games. Dirk consistently gets good looks and gets to the line when it counts.

Dallas has to work so much harder for everything they get. Will be tough to win the whole thing unless they can get a sub or two to go off in a game 7

Huge win for the Mavs. Amazing they hung in despite giving the Heat the lane all night long. The Heat had to have scored at least half their points on shots from within 8 feet in, with most being layups or dunks. The Mavs have to toughen up in the paint if they are going to be there at the end.

Dallas just needs to find some way to get this to seven, and at that point anything can happen. Miami doesnt have a particuarly great home enviroment and Dirk has never lost a game seven.

i think the correct term would be ..more athletic...he is not better..it depends on what your lookin at and their position.....there are 4 or 5 guys in the NBA that can do what Lebron does.....when it comes to Dirk there arent 5 seven footers in history that can shoot like he can

That seems like a weird way to determine who is better. Most 7 footers arent brought up that way b/c its so hard to keep a dribble at that height. More and more players actually are developing those types of skills as the game gets smaller. You will see another Dirk before you something like LeBron. For example Andrea Bargnani has a similar style of play as Dirk. I cant think of anyone who can play 1 through 4 like LeBron and guard almost anyone

LeBron is the best player in the league BTW. All these people closing their eyes until he has a bad play or game are just ridiculous

Lebron is MUCH more athletic than Dirk, but he's also a better defender, better passer, better off the dribble and considering he is four inches shorter and plays small forward a better rebounder. Basically, Lebron is a more complete player. The onyl thing Dirk really has on Lebron in terms of skill is jumpshooting.

Dirk is a more unique player and a better closer, but no GM in basketball would take him over Lebron, even if they were the same age. I love Dirk, but don't let this series warp your perception. Lebron is the most physically gifted player EVER and will likely go down as the second greatest player ever regardless of how many titles he wins.

Young Shaq might have something to say about that.

Lebron is 6'8", weighs 260 pounds, runs a 4.3 40 and has a 48" vertical. He is possibly pound for pound the strongest man in the game. He needs one dribble to get from the three point line to the rim. He has what seems to be unlimited endurance and has already played more complete (48 minute) games than MJ did in his entire career.

The guy is an absolute freak of nature and nobody has ever done the things he can athletically, at least not in front of a camera. Shaq was a freak for a seven foot post player, but he doesnt hold a candle to Lebron. Nobody does. He is basically a wing player with the size of an NFL defensive end.

I disagree, game sevens in the NBA are heavily tilted in favor of the home team, I think only 1 team has lost a game 7 at home in the finals. While obviously anything is possible, I think first game 5 is a must for the mavs, if they get that win, they have to take game 6 as the must win because I just think game seven will be too difficult to win.

If they lose game 5 the series is over tho

I think James is clearly the better overall player, but Dirk is a better pure shooter and has more heart and drive to win imo.

I agree. I feel Dirk wants this more than Lebron does. Lebron has become invisible in the 4Q. This is the finals, son. ATTACK.

Tony,Jason, and Emmitt were in attendance tonight. Cool.

Tony Romo is in the house. He and his BFF Jason Witten were spotted having a pre-game bite to eat perilously close to Cowboys heir apparent Stephen Jones who brought his daughter to the game. (Jones is management. Romo and Witten are labor. Lockout means, no chitchat between the two sides.) Romo and Witten were eating with Dallas business titan Bennie Bray and his wife, Stephanie.

"Obviously we're supporting the Mavs," Witten said.

Fans yelled "Romo, Romo," as they spotted the two heading back to their seats after halftime.
